Tested with Audacity 2.1.1-alpha-May 5 2015 Used import function in new, unsaved, empty project. MP3/wav import ok. All files play OK in the Finder and VLC. Did you delete audacity.cfg? If not, please quit Audacity then do so. - TEST.TOOL.Ac3 Dolby Digital 5.1Ch Sound Test.avi Imports, but plays wa...

Re: Amazon Audible
Are you an Audacity user?
Converting the AA format amounts to removing the Digital Rights Management. We will not tell you how to do that but you can use your favourite internet search engine to find out how.

Re: Audio units in Chains
Audacity 2.0.3 Mac 10.5.8 ppc I want to use some Apple Audio Unit effects in Chains I create. Is this possible? When I go to " EDIT CHAINS" I don't see any options for them. Upgrade to the latest Audacity 2.1.0 from http://web.audacityteam.org/download then you will be able to add Audio U...

Re: Can't open mp3 files
I have weird problem. I try to open recorded skype call in audacity, but it keeps showing me that MP3 file can't be open. I already installed LAME, and FFmpeg and set all preferences (read some threads on the forum and checked Audacity's FAQ for instructions) but it keeps showing me that it cant be...

Re: Help connecting alesis dm6 to computer for simple record
Audacity does not record MIDI and you do not have a line-in input on your computer suitable for connecting to audio out of the drum kit. Please see your previous post where all this was explained.
Buy yourself a USB interface that has a line-in.

Re: Removing sound effects?
I'm trying to remove a multitude of sound effects from what was formerly a 12-minute video clip. I want to remove everything but the background music so that I can line up the vocals from the original clip to the music, since the music from the official soundtrack is edited and doesn't line up corr...

Here you can find one of my mp4 test files. It's open... https://mango.blender.org/download/ Unfortunately, it's a 740 MB download. I'll pass on that until I'm convinced I need to download it. ;) I would suggest you test with the latest 2.1.1-alpha from the top of http://www.audacity.homerow.net/in...

Re: Recording Desktop Audio With USB Headset Error
I use audacity for the mic recording, but I do it after the initial recording as a commentary type thing, so it's done by itself and is working fine, it's just getting the loopback to work that I'm struggling with So did you try these suggestions ? Gale What I could yes, though under recording devi...

Re: Cannot open any file in Audacity
It happens for all audio files coming from all locations, so I'm not sure why you would need the audio file itself. We requested an example audio file before it became apparent that installing FFmpeg causes the problem not to occur (because FFmpeg then imports the file instead). If users had posted...

Re: locked Play Region/cursor
No, recording should stop at 1 minute, as now -1 Example: You're making a podcast and you have a file for the intro + 20 seconds of background music that gradually fades out. You want the intro to be as loud as possible (0 dB peak) The job: To record your voice for several minutes, starting just af...
