Re: Experienced help with vocals removed
I have already attempted your method though and it is not enough. Really - you tried all those plugins? If normal center-removal does not remove the voices, then you need to experiment with plugins that use other methods, and there is no guarantee of success. Please understand you may never "g...

No I cannot write any number in that field or change it. I have Yosemite 10.10.1 I have checked writing numbers with num-pad and keyboard numbers in notepad so that they work. I have Yosemite 10.10.2 and I can type in that box. Open Effect > Normalize... . Can you type in that box? What is your Mac...

Re: Free space for editing
"Will less than double" is the magic phrase, implying that undo *is* handled at the chunk level, and that the phrasing in the release notes which inspired this thread is somewhere between pessimistic and wildly pessimistic, depending on what and how you edit. Thanks. :-) For 2.1.1 release...

Re: Audacity stops responding.
Thanks Gale for the prompt reply. It is 2.1.0. I thought the last 0 was superfluous. I did download it from the dmg. When it was downloaded I got the message that it couldn't be opened because the developer was unknown (or something like that) but I found a site online telling me to open it with Cm...

I would like to try the "Audio to buffer" change that you suggest but I cannot seem to be able to alter that field in the setting (not writeable), any tips on why that is? That setting is in the Recording Preferences: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/recording_preferences.html . You s...

Re: Starting actions in Audacity is very slow
What exactly happens when the recording takes minutes to start? Does the red recording cursor appear immediately? Does that cursor move along the track? And what are you recording, using what equipment? I would look at the Transport Menu at the top of Audacity and make sure Sound Activated Recording...

Re: Audacity stops responding.
We don't make Audacity 2.1 - all our versions have three numbers. Make sure you obtain Audacity 2.1.0 from us here http://web.audacityteam.org/download/mac . Make sure you are installing Audacity properly according to these instructions: http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=47&t=75660 ....

Re: Crackling audio playback - multiple formats and volume l
Hi, I had this problem too with a Roland Quad capture DAW. As it has nothing to do with what file and all to to with playback I assumed it was related to the audio hardware in combination with Audacity, I am guessing that Quad Capture does 24-bit as default and Audacity 32-bit for example. For me i...

Re: Experienced help with vocals removed
You can attempt this in Audacity. Get it here: http://web.audacityteam.org/download . Then see Tutorial - Vocal Removal and Isolation - Audacity Manual . If you want to try other plugins, see Vocal Removal Plugins and http://forum.audacityteam.org/download/file.php?id=12536 (which is a Nyquist plugi...
