Re: Orphaned Block Files
Did your project crash or are you seeing the warnings about orphan block files when you open /Users/lisa/Music/savonclimatechange.aup normally? Theoretically, orphan files are not part of the project according to the AUP file, and so their presence does not harm the project. If you were opening the ...

Re: Not recognizing LAME mp3 encoder
Did you use the EXE installer for LAME? Can you see where you installed the file lame_enc.dll? If you can see lame_enc.dll, log in as administrator then reinstall Audacity 2.1.0, this time making sure you tick (check) the box "Reset Preferences" half way through the installer. When Audacit...

Re: Import Issue
dBPowerAmp can decode DirectShow files if you add those additional decoders to it: https://www.dbpoweramp.com/codec-central-directshow.htm.
If it can play those files it can batch-convert them.

Re: Will not record from Yamaha mixer
I thought I had answered every question but the mic is a technica ATR2100 and I have also tried My technica AT 2005. They are both XLR and USB, I have them connected through the XLR inputs and the Yamaha MG10XU connected through USB to the Computer. OK thanks those are dynamic mics so don't need ph...
Re: v 2.1.0
Thanks for the reply Gale. No it's an iTunes file. It's probably the same problem. What extension does the file have after the name and the final dot/period? If it's MP4 or M4A, then for Audacity 2.1.0 you need to install FFmpeg from http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/faq_installation_and_plug_in...

Re: Error while opening sound device
. Is that problem with WASAPI totally repeatable - record four tracks, Stop then Record again and it won't record? What happens exactly? If that is repeatable let us know and we can add it to our list of Audacity's WASAPI problems. Gale Yea it is a repeatable error. I tried it about ten times. It g...

Re: Cannot open any file in Audacity
Is this FFmpeg trying to import a video file? I am trying to import through Audacity. Previous version took less than a minute for a file this size. Now it is so many hours I cannot wait. Yes but is it video files specifically that take too long to import, or WAV, AIFF and all other audio too? Have...

Re: Static/distortion on recording in Yosemite
I am getting this same terrible problem since upgrading to Audacity 2.1.0. I am using a 2009 iMac. I am getting the popping/static sound just like the sound posted by the original poster. This happened on 2 of the last three podcasts I recorded, and it started happening at about 30 minutes in. No i...

Re: creating 1 channel WAV
I am trying to create a DCP (Digital Cinema Package) using Open DCP. I need to be importing two 1 channel wav files for the left and right in order to create an audio MXF file. There is a conversion failure when I do this and that is where I am coming from. Are you trying to make the two files for ...
