Re: How to go to a certain label (or position)
Selecting labels in Labels Editor does not bring a label into view but you could zoom out before opening the Labels Editor. When the Labels Editor is closed, you can use UP arrow or DOWN arrow to move the yellow focus border in the label track (or just click in the label track) then you can use TAB ...

Re: Recovering a Project from Mac to PC
I recently recorded a 2 hour session of a podcast with my friend's Mac computer. After the session, Audacity crashed. I was able to find the recovery file and I sent it to myself via DropBox so I could save the project on my PC. I have all the necessary files and file structure in place but I can't...

Re: Static/distortion on recording in Yosemite
I recorded a few seconds with the buffer at 10, 20, 30 and 500 and it didn't make any difference. Maybe it would with a longer recording but I don't have the patience to do that. Have you ever gotten the popping noise or crashing with any version other than 2.1.0? Yes Cmac185 had the "popping&...

Re: Crash on start up
I've got an old mac power pc G5, dual 2.3 ghz with 1 gB ram. I am running system 10.4.11.I have it in my garage and use it to digitize old tapes and records. Since upgrading to Audacity 2.1.0, the program does not launch. I've searched similar topics and have tried creating an audacity.cfg file (an...

Re: setting the record cursor
I just want to set the cursor at a spot to start recording from, other than the beginning of my other tracks. Can't seem to find any way to do that that doesn't start playing from there. Can't seem to find any "set record cursor" command or equivalent. Because Audacity does not have it. Y...

Re: locked Play Region/cursor
Wahoo, Steve! I've found a way I can still lock the editing cursor. :D I probably shouldn't tell you how, but I will anyway. ;) Click where you want to lock the cursor. Left-click-drag a small Quick-Play region anywhere in the Timeline Right-click over the Timeline and wait for the Quick-Play to sto...

Re: Unable to run Audacity 2.1.0 with Os X network account
Leland has moved the socket file to the temp dir https://github.com/audacity/audacity/commit/44900e1.
If you want to try it, it should be in the latest nightly build from the top of http://www.audacity.homerow.net/index.p ... order=desc.

Re: Static/distortion on recording in Yosemite
I am using Yosemite 10.10.3, which I believe is the latest version. I got this from the log but I do not know when it was generated. 17:09:01: Audacity 2.1.0 17:09:01: Trying to load FFmpeg libraries... 17:09:01: Trying to load FFmpeg libraries from default path, '/Library/Application Support/audac...

Re: Static/distortion on recording in Yosemite
I have been getting this in log reports -- don't know whether or not it is related. See attached. Those could be relevant, if the times of the events coincide with when issues occur in your recording - do they? Clearly you should not be doing TimeMachine backups when you record (if you are doing th...
