Re: Sync audio with foreign language text
Also see this search link https://is.gd/Zl7ANJ - there may be some iPad/iPhone apps that show text when playing the words. I don't know whether this requires specific audiobooks or works with any audio book if you obtain the text separately. Let us know how you get on with your research into this. G...

Re: Sync audio with foreign language text
You are correct - your only option in Audacity is labels. But if the books are M4B format, they may have chapter marks that are distinguishable by iTunes and iOS devices and you can use software to edit/add such markers.

Re: self-updating metadata?
Forgive me if this question has been answered before, I'm not familiar enough with the correct jargon to be able to search on it. I sometimes listen to music streams through tunein.com, which as far as I know is not responsible for providing the metadata about individual tracks-- that comes from th...

Re: Plugins go to ~/Library... is problematic

All plugin formats except Nyquist have a system plugin location that can be used - please see Installing Effect, Ge...

Re: ACX check Plug-in won't open in Audacity
The instructions you are reading about sudo xattr should only be needed in Sierra 10.12.1 and higher. Anyway I suggest you drag your Audacity folder to Trash and install the new Audacity 2.1.3 . That version is codesigned with an Apple Developer certificate which should always allow Audacity to laun...

Re: Simultaneously copy track and label.
Hi Koz, Thanks for the reply. What you said does indeed work, but I'm looking back on my post, and realizing that I may have mis-phrased what I am actually looking to do. What I am actually looking to do is simultaneously copy a single clip within an audio track, and a corresponding label, to a sep...

Do you mean you could not launch Audacity with VS 2010 installed?
If you ever want to build Audacity you should use Visual Studio 2013.

So there you have it. Something specific to your machine. Contact Apple Support. I assume you have already reset the PRAM and SMC?ALAMARNC wrote:This problem began when I upgraded my computer in 2015 using Yosemite
