Re: Need help splitting long live multitrack recording into

I was provided a live multitrack recording in the format of 14 separate 24bit/96KHz .wav files. Each file is a single audio source (mic, instrument, etc) containing the entire performance. I have imported all the files into an Audacity project and put labels at the start of each song. I'm now tryin...

Re: Audacity keeps recording int. sound when using earbud-mi

Please try Transport > Rescan Audio Devices in the Audacity menu bar, or Audacity > Quit Audacity then restart Audacity. If that does not help, please post Audacity's Audio Device Info again after doing that. To avoid taking a screenshot of it, you can just COMMAND + A then COMMAND + C in the Info w...

Re: Waves DeBreath plugin

I tried the VST version of DeBreath in Audacity 2.1.1-alpha on Mavericks and Yosemite and it appears to be applying the effect correctly.

Re: Can't save EQBackup.xml [SOLVED]

after I deleted EQBackup.xml (before reinstalling), Audacity was still able to run the pre-installed equalizer programs. I thought Audacity was getting them from EQBackup.xml. No it gets the default curves from EQDefaultCurves.xml in the folder you run Audacity from. I deleted both the EQBackup.xml...

Re: Rapid Comparison Switching

And that trick was exactly what enabled James to win the day with Standard Mode being default. ;) The simple mode unmutes the track first--unnecessarily, I think. I disagree, because "Solo on" muting all the other tracks and "Solo off" unmuting all tracks is intuitive. Your tric...

Re: Audacity 2.1.0 procedure entry point not found

I have only one recording of me playing Classical guitar at a Concert back in 1974- It was recorded on an old Grundig reel-to-reel recorder, and subsequently transferred to cd. Naturally the sound is less than perfect, and there are a few sections with playing errors I would like to fix. Any sugges...

Re: Rapid Comparison Switching

Would it be worth having an additional Solo button behaviour option? None Simple (like the current "Simple") [default] Multi (like the current "Standard") A/B The A/B option would be for the specific case cited by Koz (which I think is a fairly common use case). With the A/B opt...

Re: Rapid Comparison Switching

If I want to make an A/B comparison with 4 tracks: - mute tracks 1 to 3. - only track 4 plays - press solo on track 3 - only track 3 plays I use this kind of switching all the time. No it doesn't. Which Preference track mode are you in? No combination of Mutes and Solos will produce one button whic...

Re: Audio Channel Manipulation

Please see the pink panel at the top of the page. It helps us to have that information. Yes Audacity has an Edit > Duplicate command. The duplicate goes to the bottom of the project. The exact allocation of the tracks to each channel may vary according to the format you are exporting to or even acco...

Re: *HELP* Error: Reference to invalid character at line 3

I can't see anything wrong with the syntax of the file. The file was created by Audacity 2.0.5 but what version of Audacity are you using now? And what version of Windows? I would install or reinstall the latest 2.1.0 from http://web.audacityteam.org/download/windows/ . Be sure to put a tick (checkm...
