Re: Bug: default sample format ignored for imports

These are arguably not really bugs (something not working as we intend) but decisions we've made. I agree it may be non-obvious to the user what is going on and why things are as they are.

Re: Slow startup since 2.0.3

on both my PC with Vista32 (Norton/Comodo), I notice that 2.1.0 needs 40 seconds at the first opening attempt, then 2 seconds only. what to do? You started a new topic but this as the same as your old topic so I merged your new topic back here. I don't have Norton but for me on Windows 7 or 8, if A...

Re: Bug: default sample format ignored for imports

Some file imports use the default sample format setting, others don't. The ones that don't include APE (or any other ffmpeg format) and OGG. They are always 16-bit regardless of the setting. Bug reports about Audacity should please give your version of Windows, Mac or Linux and three-section versio...

Re: [shell] Open file when Audacity is already running

Is opening a second file from the command line in the same session impossible? The only built in way to open multiple projects from the command line is to specify a number of files: audacity <path to first file> <path to second file> ... <path to nth file> This was a long-standing bug, but it is be...

Re: Crashes at start up

I just recently updated my MBP to Yosemite. So I downloaded the latest version of Adacity and reinstalled the application. But it crashed at start up. (The icon appeared for a second on the dock then disappeared). Help! Please see the pink panel at the top of the page and give us the three-digit Au...

Re: Sample rate : changing 44.1 to 48000

I'm pretty certain I'm correct in saying unlike changing from 48000 to 44.1 which would use dither, going up from 44.1 to 48000 doesn't use dither does it? Dither is for use when downconverting bit depth, not sample rate. http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Dither . Audacity correctly applies dither ...

Re: Voxengo CurveEQ

Kozikowski, many thanks. Under the line, right? Lot of stuff there but sadly not CurveEQ or Kontakt 5. If you have a question please give us the necessary information from the pink panel at the top of the page. Curve EQ will appear and work in the current Audacity 2.1.0 from http://web.audacityteam...

Re: Sample rate : changing 44.1 to 48000

Audacity project rate always determines the export sample rate.

Re: Can Audacity create its own libraries of AUs (from Logic

I know, I can manually just locate the pre-existing aiff audio file that came with the installation of Logic for the note "c" on the HDD, cut it to the length I need it and import to Audacity and repeat these steps for every note/sound again. But since this will take hours, I asked whethe...
