Re: Playback

I am using windows 7 I am using Audacity 2.0.3 I am using external mike ( cassette player). 2.0.3 is very old. I recommend the latest 2.1.0 from http://web.audacityteam.org/download/windows . Recording music from a cassette player with an external microphone is desperation measures. If you have a s...

Re: recording

I'm sure its not clicks on the mp3 and it doesn't happen every 6 seconds Set up the Numark USB audio on the Input section of /Applications/Utilities/Audio MIDI Setup with the same sample rate as the project rate you are using bottom left of Audacity. 44100 Hz is usually safest. So that would be 441...

Re: Crashing on Yosemite

Without the log, AUTOSAVE file and temp folder it is total speculation. Hopefully you know now what information to provide if you get a bad recovery in future. How long does the data in these locations (log, autosave & temp) remain there after the recovery attempt? Do I need to save them with e...

Re: Static bursts in output from 2.1.0?

Some time later, this has happened to me again, a sudden burst of white noise/static after outputting a wav. This time, the source (and output) were 24/48 wavs. (I output the samples to 16 bit for attachment-size considerations.) I have attached the burst of static, and the same passage of music fr...

Re: How to edit out 'distortion' in an MP3

I recorded the Trisagion off the internet, but from 3.4 on until the end, there is some distortion that is not present from the beginning to that point. It's too loud (over 0 dB) which means the tops of the waveform that are over that level can't be represented. The result is a "flat topped&qu...

Re: Final Burn and Importation to iTunes

You could also try a lower burn speed in the burn options.

Re: Audacity 2.1.0 Not Responding In Yosemite

File-->Open...got the Finder window and tried to navigate to a file...it froze! I just went back in to it, and I can select files in the Finder window now, but it is very slow. So, progress that I don't have to force kill it, but should it be slow (lagging, pinwheel, when I try to move away from a ...

Also check where you are saving the project or exporting. You can't save anywhere in Program Files unless you are administrator.

Re: Crashing on Yosemite

The data is actually missing, not just a blank or very quiet spot. Listening to the recording the audio just jumps the 12 sec or 6 sec or what ever length is missing like that section was cut out/deleted. Without the log, AUTOSAVE file and temp folder it is total speculation. Hopefully you know now...
