Re: Sudden and severe digital distortion/crackle

You can't repair crackling once recorded, but setting Audio to Buffer to 10 or 20 ms should help avoid crackly recordings in the first place. You should definitely use Audacity 2.1.0. It has a fix for an uninitialised audio buffer. Without the fix you may receive this type of crackling when playing ...

Re: Audacity keeps dynamically adjusting volume for mulitple

Please read the pink panel at the top of the page and let us know the required information. Ok I'm getting the problem when I mux two audio tracks together, say game audio and mic audio, even though I've lowered the game volume by 10dB and Mic audio to max, if I output both tracks into the same file...

Re: Cannot record audio coming from computer

Please read the Audacity Manual: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/tutorial_recording_computer_playback_on_windows.html . You must play the song or content on the Realtek Speakers device and you must turn the speakers and audio player volume up. That is, you cannot (easily) silence the song or co...

Re: the sliding time scaler/pitch shifter isn't showing up o

This should be fixed in the next 2.1.1 release of Audacity - the four LADSPA-swh plugins that depend on libfftw should then initialise properly.

Thanks, someone else has confirmed that to be the case.

Re: Exported MP3 and .wav files are intermittently skipping

But if it plays back fine BEFORE it's exported to MP3 or WAV, doesn't that mean that the skipping problem has something to do with the export process? But you also said: recording is being skipped each time and it seems to happen all through the recording. So I assumed you were only spot-testing in...

Re: Microphone Signal

Thank you so much for the reply and for removing my email. When I play back my voice over recording through my headsets only the left side plays sound as well. I will change it to mono. Audio host is set to core audio which is the only option given. I just want to make sure I am doing this correct ...

Re: Exported MP3 and .wav files are intermittently skipping

Audacity > Preferences... then the Recording section. Set Audio to buffer to 10 milliseconds. If that does not record consistently, increase the setting to 20, then 30 until it records properly. That lower setting should fix the playback issue. If that does not help, please say exactly what you are ...
