Re: [Settings for recording] "Audio to buffer" and WASAPI vs

Well, maybe these points will help you: - I am focusing on 48000 Hz, 16 bits; - sample rate and bit depth are the same for source and recording (in Audacity so), also my sound card can recording with the same sample rate and bit depth and it is setted to these values; - the recording is made from m...

Re: file names missing or not showing correctly in Import>Au

I have wxWidgets 3.0 devel already installed on opensuse 42.2 will that conflict with wxWidgets 2.8.12? Not if you follw the instructions I suggested: Audacity should find the install of wxWidgets in usr/local, but if not, you can add the path to the WX_CONFIG file in your 2.8.12 wxWidgets installa...

Re: [Settings for recording] "Audio to buffer" and WASAPI vs

As it says in the 2.1.3 Release Notes, "Audio to buffer" cannot be used to adjust recording latency using WASAPI host. Is it a bug in Audacity? I think so, certainly so for physical inputs. It is impossible to generalise that MME gives better quality than WASAPI. It depends what you are r...

Re: Plugins go to ~/Library... is problematic

Those three locations were unexpected to me, and Audacity does not see Nyquist plugins in /home/gale/plug-ins AFAICT. Note tested beyond that. Works for me, but this is getting a bit off-topic here, so we can discus these details on the QA mailing list. Those three locations are not documented, eit...

Re: Interactive sound soure separation

One of the current Audacity developers is interested in source separation, but it is a major piece of work. Realistically, it would probably have to be funded somehow.

Re: Audio file extends too long after track ends

Is anyone else having this problem? My edited tracks all end at a specific time, i.e. 28:28 but the audacity file extends several seconds past it. Even after I export it to mp3 it is too long. I have no idea how to clip/trim/delete that extra bit of file space. It always helps if you say what versi...

Re: BEST FORMAT FROM AUD TO PLAY IN BOOMBOX?

we've replace the boombox, thinking that was the problem. none of the files (previously listed formats used on separate CDs) will play in the boombox. i've check the manufacturer's specs and requirements and can find nothing that states why the file formats won't play. I'm assuming the problem orig...

Re: BEST FORMAT FROM AUD TO PLAY IN BOOMBOX?

This is nothing to do with general audio programming so I moved the topic to the correct Windows board.

Re: Audacity 2.1.3 with OSX 10.9.5 USB Cassette

I'm using OSX 10.9.5 with an intel processor and just loaded Audacity 2.1.3 but it doesn't recognise the USB Cassette player [Watts USB Cassette player] I haven't used either before and while looking online, it appears that previous instructions [screen shots] atr for a different version of Audacit...
