Does Audacity see the audio devices on your other version of Windows, assuming you have the Technical Preview in a partition?

You generally can't tell from a computer's specifications whether it supports stereo mix or not. If the computer offers Beats Audio, I recommend not buying it unless you are prepared to use an external sound card instead of the motherboard audio.
