Re: Song vocal barely audible
Recording goes through a .35mm jack to RCA L/R split to a ADS Tech Instant Music pre-amp (same as I use for turntable audio processing) and then into the USB port of my laptop. Audacity Microphone is Realtek High Definition. Realtek High Definition is the motherboard audio. If you are recording fro...

Re: Background Sound Behind Voice Over Problem
I'm using the latest version of Audacity, the last few recordings I've compiled using a mixture of music tracks & voice over. In the published MP3 I've noticed an anomaly where in the gaps between VO passages, the background music level rises un-naturally, which is most noticeable where the VO ...

Re: Second track not recording
I record some voice, then click stop and when clicking rerord again Audacity makes new track but doesn't record anything. What should I do to solve it? Sorry but you have not really given us enough information. Start by giving us the information requested in the pink panel at the top of the page. W...

Re: How to move the starting point of a track
I need to shift to the right on the timeline a whole track, so that I can insert another small track before the beginning. How do I do that? It's probably obvious, but I just can't find it in the documentation. I'm using 2.1.0 on Windows 7x64. Thanks for stating the Audacity and Windows version. Pr...

Re: I also can't hear audio in exported mp3
I am having the exact same problem. I've tried exporting as both an mp3 and a WAV. When I open either one in any media player, the track is silent for the duration of the recording. When I import the silent mp3 file back into Audacity, it works perfectly. I'm trying to get the first episode of this...
Re: No sound
Does Audacity see the audio devices on your other version of Windows, assuming you have the Technical Preview in a partition?

Re: Laptop purchasing and Audacity loopback?
Thanks! Maybe I should modify my request and ask that if people have had good experience doing this kind of recording of looped back sound with a particular laptop model (whether because it has 2 1/8 inch plugs, or you can do it with Stereo Mix or RealTek or WASSAPI reliably) that they send on the ...
Re: No sound
If the problem persists after reboot please update to the latest Technical Preview (I think that is build 10162 at the time of writing). Also you can (I imagine) obtain a technical report on your audio devices by using the WIN + R shortcut, then type "dxdiag" (without quotes) then press EN...

Re: Laptop purchasing and Audacity loopback?
You generally can't tell from a computer's specifications whether it supports stereo mix or not. If the computer offers Beats Audio, I recommend not buying it unless you are prepared to use an external sound card instead of the motherboard audio. Beats Audio is widely reported to record all sources ...
