Re: Corrupted files on memory stick
how do I know if the voice is center-panned If the voice is not centre-panned, or if it is centre-panned but reverberation is added, it will not be isolated completely by the Audacity effects. You may (or may not) be able to obtain better results with VST plugins in that case. the plug ins are very...

See: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/tutorial_vocal_removal_and_isolation.html http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Vocal_Removal_Plug-ins If you use the 2.1.1 release candidate 2 http://www.fosshub.com/Audacity.html/audacity-win-2.1.1rc2.exe that has a "Vocal Reduction and Isolation" ef...

Re: Both of my mixer channels are recording as one.
Also please see the pink panel at the top of the page and give us the requested information.
If it's a USB mixer and you are on Vista or later, make sure Windows has the mixer set to record in stereo: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/fa ... #rinstereo.

In other words, you will have to change host to Windows WASAPI (loopback) and choose the USB Audio CODEC (loopback) or similar as the Audacity recording device. See the link Koz gave.

Re: No signal recording from M-Audio M track
If you have the M-Audio USB Audio CODEC selected as the Audacity recording device as you say but it doesn't record, try Transport > Rescan Audio Devices in the Audacity Menu Bar at the top.

Re: Song vocal barely audible
Yes, but that label would not say "Realtek" for a USB Audio Device. For all we know, the user could be using "Listen to this device" and recording Realtek stereo mix.kozikowski wrote:The microphone mentioned was the label of the Audacity setting, not an actual microphone.

Re: How to open multiple instances with 2.1.0
I upgraded from 2.0.2. With that version I can open a new instance and start recording whilst other instances are busy saving as MP3 in the background. (Work can be over an hour Long) Audacity 2.0.2 did not open multiple instances of itself either. Whenever you open a new window in any 2.x version,...

Re: Song vocal barely audible
If you are recording from a USB device you need to choose the USB Audio CODEC for that device as the Audacity recording device. If the wrong service was being used, that would give no audio, not damaged audio. Webidextrous appeared to state that he or she was choosing what amounts to the wrong sour...

Re: Music Isn't Showing Up
I just got Audacity, and when ever I try to import music, it doesn't show up on the panel. Can anyone help me? I have a MacBook Pro with 10.10.2 If you have Audacity 2.1.0 and these files are MP4, M4A, MOV or ALAC, they won't show up as waveforms unless you also install the optional FFmpeg library....
