Re: Timeline on very long recordings faster than real time
Where are you seeing that?GTBecker wrote:looking at vorbis's status the average bit rate displayed is "-2".
Recording speed problems are relatively common if you choose pulse and will occur if sample rates are mismatched anywhere, so I still think that should be one of your lines of enquiry.

Re: Timeline on very long recordings faster than real time
What is your input device in Audacity's Device Toolbar? If it's "pulse" you may need to change the pulse configuration files to default to 192000 Hz, or use the (hw) input choice instead.
Dose the Diamond have a control panel for sample rate? You should look there too.

Re: How do I separate multiple recordings on a single track
It's the only recording out of 35 that was like that. Say somebody made a mono recording of a voice. Press Stop. Now make another recording without checking if Audacity was empty. Audacity would have cheerfully made a second separate track underneath the first. Again, without checking, the operator...

Re: Audacity keeps converting my 24 bit samples to 32 bit fl
I'm not sure where those default settings apply and where they don't... Assuming we are talking about WAV files, this is what currently happens Quality setting File Format Imports as 16 16 16 16 24 32 16 32 32 24 16 24 24 24 32 24 32 32 32 16 32 32 24 32 32 32 32 Conversion from 24-bit integer to 3...

Re: Can't repeat 1 times on Audacity 2.1.1
Don't most other effects remember the last used setting when re=opening Audacity Yes. But in this case I think I would be minded to favour reversion to the default setting of 1 repeat. We can have it either way - we just need to decide. I'm mildly in favour of remembering the last setting, mostly o...

Re: Can't repeat 1 times on Audacity 2.1.1
So I think the text should be "Number of repeats to add" or similar I think that "to add" is unnecessary verbiage, especially if we show the original length as well as the new length My suggestion if you recall was to add "to add" OR add the current selection length. G...

Should any computer go to sleep when it is writing files every 6 to 12 seconds as Audacity does when recording?cyrano wrote:Have you considered that your computer might go to sleep and cut the audio?
The screen saver might come on, but this should not cause the recording to stop.

Re: Recording from Cassette tape
I have Audacity version 2.0.6. I installed it earlier this year off the internet using exe installer. I am using AGPtek cassette player with USB port into an HP computer with Windows 7. Audacity just stops recording, the first time after about 34 minutes, the second time after about 20 minutes. In ...

Re: Cut and Paste Waveforms Among Different Tracks
I know my forum registration and password are correct and yet after numerous tries, the system won't let me in. Then, of all the stupid things, it wants me to post an email address that isn't the one I loged in with. The usual reason for this is that you are using a password manager or form filler ...
