Re: All playback now high-speed
Running audacity like this "env PULSE_LATENCY_MSEC=30 audacity", as suggested on your wiki , didn't help. It just caused audacity to freeze for a minute when every playback was attempted. Try other numbers such as 50. OMG, that worked! :P Thanks very much! I wonder if it's worth adding th...

Re: Recording LP's no sound
I think the op is trying to burn an audio CD and ends up with a data CD? Perhaps, but if the OP plays the audio or data CD in the computer with a USB turntable connected, they won't be able to hear the CD. To burn an audio CD in Windows Media Player 11 on XP (and Vista): http://windows.microsoft.co...

Re: Updated De-Clicker and new De-esser for speech
... I was looking for compressor which compresses different frequencies with different parameters but didn't manage to find it. If you're using windows there is a free multi-band-compressor VST-plugin called Gmulti which does that. [ I've used Gmulti to de-ess in Audacity, just using Gmulti's high-...

Re: Crashing on Yosemite
OSX sends all files you save (and even those you don't save) in the background to the cloud. That process kicks in when you hit "save". I've had some trouble with it in most DAW's. Excluding a folder from Spotlight, lessens the burdon and might just avoid the crash. Time Machine, Spotligh...

Re: Crashing on Yosemite
1. Don't leave the input monitor display going after the initial check that the input is getting in. Leaving that going greatly increases the likely hood of a crash or hang when starting the recording, especially with starting the second recording. I have not seen that mentioned by anyone else. Do ...

Re: All playback now high-speed
Are you aware that Audacity can only be selected in pavucontrol while the audio is active? Yes, but a strange thing happens there... When I hit play on a recording (taken with the same headset) it takes a couple of seconds to play back very quickly, but the entry in pavucontrol appears and disappea...

Re: Recording LP's no sound
Equipment set up plugged in, appears to be working fine, computer says saving as 16 bit wav file, but when I save to Windows Media Player to burn CD no sound is burned. Please read the pink panel at the top of the page and give us the necessary information. If this is a USB turntable, unplug it or ...

Re: Eliminating audio overlap from left and right channels
Dig around in Windows Sound Control Panels and see what you find. Search for Windows Playback Effects. I'm not a Windows elf. If you need more Windows help, we should wait for one of them. The poster did not say what version of Windows (or Audacity) they had. For Windows Vista and later, right-clic...

Re: Crashing on Yosemite
I'm also experiencing crashes after periods of inactivity. Audacity 2.1.0, Yosemite 10.10.4 (and 10.10.3). Crashes have occurred after leaving Audacity open overnight with other apps open as well, and after about an hour of inactivity. The crash occurs upon switching to the Audacity app. Feel free ...
