That's a bogus Audacity if it really says that.

I suggest you obtain 2.1.1 from http://audacityteam.org/download/windows.

Re: USB option not displayed in Recording Device: drop-down

@wristy151966: You can take a picture of the whole screen using PrtScr and of a dialogue using ALT + PrtScr. Then open Paint, paste and save as a PNG image. If the USB device is not recognised by Windows then you will not be able to record from it. Tape2MP3 has an audio output so you could record fr...

Re: The problem with effect "Normalize".

There are other effects that do suffer from the newly introduced validation with predefined decimal places. For instance, Paul stretch allows only a time resolution down to 0.1 seconds. Imagine a reverb with such a setting - it's a cathedral. I often use it with stretch factor 1.0 and Time resoluti...

Re: The problem with effect "Normalize".

Moved to "Adding Features".

Presumably there is a "scientific" use case for two decimal places of accuracy? Is that why Amplify uses two places, as a more "advanced" tool?

Re: No loop playback button?

Moved to "Adding Features". i would also favour a loop button, as shift + space starts playback from the beginning of the track but not from the position of the cursor on. A loop button would probably play from the beginning of the track too, given SHIFT-click on the Play button does that,...

Re: need advice re96/32float recording

I wiped all traces of Audacity from the computer came back to the site downloaded 2.0.2 You would be much better to use 2.1.1 which has the latest bug fixes: http://audacityteam.org/download/windows . other than changing recording to line input did nothing else so the recording WHICH WAS FINE was a...

Re: Audacity 2.1.0 can't open new projects using a shortcut

There are (technically) lots of problems with how Audacity handles multiple open projects. Ctrl+N is a relatively safe way to open more than one project, but there are still many problems that need to be resolved. Getting this "right" is very difficult, but it is something that the develo...

Re: Karaoke, Rotation, Panning & more

In 2.1.0 release on Ubuntu 14.04 64-bit (the same build and environment that Starkiller has), those two vocalrediso.ny files appear to process the audio but leave it unmodified. Wait a minute, do you mean you were able to reproduce the problem and now I'm not the only one? Yes I could reproduce the...

Re: Karaoke, Rotation, Panning & more

I'm using Ubuntu 14.04 and Mint 17.1. I got Audacity 2.1.0 from "ppa:ubuntuhandbook1/audacity". I tried to compile it myself it but after 2 hours of waiting I got an error and gave up. Do you find as I did on 64-bit Ubuntu 14.04 that vocalrediso.ny does not work in Audacity 2.1.0? If so y...

It worked fine for me with Audacity 2.1.0 alpha Feb 8th,
Presumably a 32-bit system, though?
