Re: Audacity 2.1.1 crashes on OSX 10.8.5

... if the problem was that FFmpeg or LAME are in /usr/local and Mac is blocking read access to that location unless logged in as admin, we know from past experience that repairing permissions can fix that. In my case the libraries were (and stll are) unter /Library/Application Support/audacity/ OK...

Re: A (possibly) silly question re "scrubbing", v2.1.1.

As you will probably be aware, the equivalent of Windows and Linux CTRL on Mac is COMMAND (Apple key). In certain places, yes. Not generally. It's sufficiently general that the Mac version of wxWidgets (the interface toolkit we use) maps CTRL to COMMAND. please, fix also the misleading information ...

Re: No sound win 7 64bit

I was not aware it was OK for them to modify it Anyone can modify Audacity if they make the modified source code available under the same General Public License as ourselves. Audacity Portable have (at least) modified Audacity to get the extra "portable" features that they offer. Now have...

Re: Audacity 2.1.1 crashes on OSX 10.8.5

the "old" seettings directory did have the correct permissions Have you done Verify Disk and Repair Permissions yet? It does not matter what GetInfo says if your permissions are messed up. Gale That only verifies and repairs ***some*** system permissions. Doesn't do a thing for user owned...

Re: No sound win 7 64bit

If you got that 2.1.0 in your picture from http://portableapps.com/apps/music_video/audacity_portable it's a modified version of Audacity. Audacity Portable is not our project so we do not know the full extent of their modifications. If you download 2.1.1 as suggested from http://audacityteam.org/do...

Re: Audacity 2.1.1 and OS X 10.10.4

Taking the audacity.cfg file, which is attached as ‘audacity.txt’, out of the Application Support folder seems to have solved the problem. Will I run into any other problems now because I did that? I updated from Audacity 2.1.0. Thank you for the attached file. In fact that .cfg file was last saved...

Re: No sound win 7 64bit

I f you still have Audacity Portable 2.1.0, sorry but as previously explained, we do not make that and so cannot provide support for it. I recommend updating to the new Audacity 2.1.1 supplied by us: http://audacityteam.org/download/windows . Using 2.1.1, you will have to use the Windows WASAPI (lo...

Re: A (possibly) silly question re "scrubbing", v2.1.1.

As you will probably be aware, the equivalent of Windows and Linux CTRL on Mac is COMMAND (Apple key). So try COMMAND and left-click.

That page of the Manual does say that, but it is noted at the bottom, so I will move it further up for next release.
