Re: Audacity 2.1.1 crashes on OSX 10.8.5
the "old" seettings directory did have the correct permissions Have you done Verify Disk and Repair Permissions yet? It does not matter what GetInfo says if your permissions are messed up. Gale That only verifies and repairs ***some*** system permissions. Doesn't do a thing for user owned...

Re: 2.1.1 not working on 10.10.5
Is this still a problem or has something in the links Steve gave fixed it? The "Gestalt" warning is probably not directly relevant to Audacity not launching - I am still on 10.10.2 and see the same warnings for Audacity, Firefox and other non-Apple apps. This http://www.edenwaith.com/devel...

Re: A (possibly) silly question re "scrubbing", v2.1.1.
If you tell us what information there you regard as misleading then we can consider any necessary action. In the menu, go to Preferences->Mouse. All mouse bindings are shown with "Ctrl", see the attached screenshot. In the OSX version of Audacity "Ctrl" should be replaced with &...

Re: A (possibly) silly question re "scrubbing", v2.1.1.
It's sufficiently general that the Mac version of wxWidgets (the interface toolkit we use) maps CTRL to COMMAND. Man, I wish I had a memory like that... I have to go back to the Mac+ in 1984 to find a Mac keyboard that didn't have a control key. Or is my memory failing again? To be clear, I...

Re: USB option not displayed in Recording Device: drop-down
it looks like it isn't recognised by my PC as a recording device (see pic). Since the USB lead works with other devices and in other PCs (I've already checked this), presumably that means that the socket in the T2MP3 device is no longer working? I don't want to use the other audio option you refer ...

Re: Audacity stuck on loading screen.
I have no idea how to start this so I'll just get straight into it: I'm using Windows 8.1 and Audacity 2.1.1. I've been using Audacity for a while and until today have had no problems. Then when I tried to boot up Audacity (today) it stopped responding on the splash screen. I waited for roughly 15 ...

Re: Using vurtual instuments apps
Given Audacity is a Desktop app I think you will just single tap on Audacity's Play or Record button but you will have to double tap to open Audacity, not just single tap. But you can change that in Folder Options so that single click (or tap) will open: http://www.groovypost.com/howto/make-microsof...

Re: New Limiter in 2.1.1
the most I can apply with the limiter is -10dB. I don't know Nyquist so don't take this as the definitive answer, but Nyquist plugins are only text files. Try changing line 21 to ;control thresh "Limit to (dB)" real "" -3 -30 0 assuming you want a minimum of -30 dB. The slider w...
