Re: New Limiter in 2.1.1
I seem to have no file named "Audacity.cfg" on my system. EDIT: nor pluginregistry.cfg, nor pluginsettings.cfg... Spotlight can't find it, locate can't find it and I can't find it if I look in /Library/Application support/audacity/ The .cfg files are in your user library ~/Library/Applica...

Re: New Limiter in 2.1.1
Repairing disk permissions seems to have reset prefs. I thought you didn't believe in repairing disk permissions :D Were you trying to reset preferences and it had not worked (i.e. you had deleted audacity.cfg after quitting Audacity)? When using the contextual menu (ctrl-click with a file selected...

Re: Will audacity allow me to record with three mics?
I'm tired of seeing links to the multi-channel recording page in the wiki. It doesn't provide any actual information on how to use multitrack recording (or if it's even possible) in audacity. I have an Akai EIE (not pro) that I am trying to get working to record 4 mono tracks simotaniously. Exactly...

Re: Audacity 2.1.1 and OS X 10.10.4
@ RobNY: There are two application support libraries for Audacity. The one that has the .cfg file is the one that you get to starting from your home directory (~/Library/Application Support/audacity). Thanks for your reply. At the risk of looking really stupid, I simply cannot find a file with .cfg...

Re: Audacity 2.1.1 crashes on OSX 10.8.5
I finally got 2.1.1 running by renaming the Audacity directory at Library/Application Support/Audacity. Then I stated 2.1.1 and shut it back down and then restarted it again just fine so set some preferences then closed it again. Then I renamed the new directory and restored the name on the origina...

Re: Audacity 2.1.1 crashes on OSX 10.8.5
Don't know if this is related to this specific issue or not, but two of us on different machines with Yosemite 10.10.4 can't get 2.1.1. to run at all. Found the following in the Console: " 7/19/15 8:55:28.748 PM Audacity[1384]: WARNING: The Gestalt selector gestaltSystemVersion is returning 10...

1.3.x.DJDemon wrote:Right. Both v2.0.x and v2.1.1 are using the same path and file names to store the settings. IIRC, these were already used by v1.x.cyrano wrote:i'm pretty certain I have only one .cfg on this Mac, depite having two Audacity versions.
1.2.x used ~/Library/Preferences/audacity Preferences.

Re: Audacity 2.1.1 crashes on OSX 10.8.5
Sometimes the Repair Permissions without restart has enabled users to read /usr/local/ again. Other times they had to go in as root to change permissions on that folder or just not use it for LAME or FFmpeg. And yes sometimes Repair Permissions can "seemingly" fix issues with ~/Library/Ap...

Re: Decimal places in effect settings
Nyquist plug-ins do not allow input beyond the slider range But they can, no? In 2.1.0, I can set the High Pass slider range for Hz to 10000 to 20000 Hz but still high pass at 1000 Hz by entering that value in the text box. In 2.1.1 the validation prevents that. If a fringe use case of Nyquist plug...

Re: Decimal places in effect settings
And as I said, different decimal places in Amplify and Normalize does "look" inconsistent, Even more "inconsistent" if I increase the number of decimal places in the Amplify effect to 3. We are even more inconsistent between the built-in generators and the Normalize effect in th...
