Re: Decimal places in effect settings
I expect it will be years before we see logarithmic sliders. If we can specify "trailing zero", that is even less reason not to allow 2 decimal places in Normalize. Then if Amplify changes to 3 decimal places and Normalize has 2, we retain the one greater place of accuracy for Amplify that...

Re: Adjusting sound level to equalize 2 parts? Mixer Board?
what I really need to be able to do; reducing the louder file to match the softer file without changing the softer file. I don't understand what is stopping you doing that. If the loud part is in one part of a track, click and drag to select the loud part. For that loud part selected on its own you...

Re: Adjusting sound level to equalize 2 parts? Mixer Board?
If I install the newer version, will I also have to re-download and re-install the plug-ins like LAME etc? LAME is a library. No you should not have to re-download LAME. If you merge the new Audacity folder into the old, choose "Keep newer". This retains any files in your existing Audacit...

Re: Labels behaviour
We can add your suggestions as "votes". Personally I think there should be some different shortcut to navigate to a label without opening it.

Re: console nyquist Audacity 2.1.1
If you have questions about Nyquist scripts, please post in this board and write in English.
I don't know much about Nyquist, but try running that code with the "Use legacy (version 3) syntax" box enabled (checked).

Re: Multi track freezing during playback
Are you playing files like AIFF or WAV? What audio device are you playing to?
Are you recording while playing?
What Windows version of Audacity are you using?
Is there are reason you don't use the Mac version of Audacity ( http://audacityteam.org/download/mac )?

Re: Audacity not recording in Ubuntu Studio
Do I need to change the latency correction settings? I tried recording and got this error message: Latency Correction setting has caused the recorded audio to be hidden before zero. Audacity has brought it back to start at zero. You may have to use the Time Shift Tool (<---> or F5) to drag the trac...

Re: Adjusting sound level to equalize 2 parts? Mixer Board?
Oh, I should add I'm using OSX 10.6.8 and Audacity 2.0.5. The SoundForge.net site is down so I can't get the newer one right now. SourceForge stopped hosting us without warning a few weeks ago, just as well considering their long outage. You can obtain Audacity from us at http://audacityteam.org/do...

Re: Audacity 2.1.1 and OS X 10.10.4
I had the same problem (Audacity 2.1.1 would not launch in OS 10.10.4). Removing the audacity.cfg document fixed the problem. Here's the old audacity.cfg (changed to .txt) Thank you for the file. I think the problem is the line pointing to the old Audacity 1.2 temp directory: TempDir=/tmp/audacity1...

Re: 2.1.1 will not open
Please see http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=47&t=86508 for the probable solution. The solution requires editing or deleting the audacity.cfg settings file, as described in the topic. If you could attach the audacity.cfg file that was causing the problem, that would assist us. Please...
