Re: Multi track freezing during playback
Ok, so I installed the free version on Audacity for Mac (couldnt find a full version to buy, is there one for Mac?) So there is no confusion, Audacity is always free. A paid version is someone's hack and could harm your computer. Only download Audacity from http://audacityteam.org/download/ . I set...

Re: Decimal places in effect settings
you (after training) would have been persuaded, that you can choose optimal for your mind. Can you say why you want this accuracy in Normalize? Is it to do with brainwave entrainment? For example are you following someone's scientific formula that prescribes exactly -1.12 dB? I agree it's not at al...

Re: Decimal places in effect settings
I think you'll just invite more questions as to the apparent "discrepancy" between the two effects. but you're not concerned about the discrepancy between Normalize and the Level control in Bass and Treble? or are you saying that that should also have more decimal places? For consistency,...

Re: "Wave Stats" plug-in
I don't think we need two plugins, just rejig the layout and remove the duplications. Something like: Clip FAILS to meet ACX requirements! * Peak level of <value> exceeds ACX specification of -3 dB * RMS level of <value> outside ACX specification of -18 to 23 dB * Noise floor of <value> outside ACX ...

I made a note of your suggestion.
I take it you tried log frequency and a large size?

Re: 2.1.1 Crash on startup - Yosemite 10.10.4
I can't find out anything definitive about that error "Dispatch queue: com.apple.root.default-qos.overcommit" but it seems to be do with a thread not exiting quickly enough. I would go further and just delete the entire ~/Library/Application Support/audacity/ . Do 2.1.0 or 2.0.6 from here ...

Re: getting my mic back to a mic
So Windows 8 does still have those baby-blue bouncing sound meters. I've been sending people off to find them not knowing if they succeeded or not. Windows 8 has exactly the same "Sound" applet as Windows 7. It even says so here on our very own Wiki page: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki...

Just as a data point, you are using System Center Configuration Manager ?
Do you use or leverage the Audacity EXE installer or do something else?
Does the rogue entry in Programs and Features delete itself when you try to "uninstall" it?

Re: Audacity resets sound config every time it starts
A few other Audacity users have reported similar volume resets where there is a volume slider for each channel, but they say the problem started with Audacity 2.0.3. You can try choosing a different host in Audacity Device Toolbar, or go to the web site of your computer manufacturer and see if there...

Re: File Remnants after using Audacity
Just to add that the Users\<your user name>\AppData\Roaming\Audacity\audacity.cfg file will have a record of the fully qualified path of the imported file. To avoid that, put Audacity on a USB stick too, and add a folder called "Portable Settings" (no quotes) in the folder where Audacity l...
