Re: Popping noise recording from cassette tape
Audacity 2.0.3 .exe installer on Win 7 32-bit, recording via "ezcap USB cassette capture". Setup is MME, MS Sound mapper input and output, mono with Software Playthrough, project rate 44100. I get a fairly loud popping noise 2/3 times per second on sound playback and on the recording. The...

Re: Export Multiple and FFmpeg
I've twice tried using the Export Multiple feature to export multiple files with FFmpeg today, and the first time I did it, all of the files were successfully exported, but the first three had several minutes of blank audio at the end. The second time, I noticed that the same thing was happening fo...

Re: 2.1.1 Crash on startup - Yosemite 10.10.4
My son upgraded his Snow Leopard to Yosemite a month or so ago. He has tried to run 2.1.1 and says he has deleted the audacity folder in the Application Support directory, but 2.1.1 will not start under any circumstances and 2.1.0 runs fine. His MBP is about a year earlier than mine, but surely tha...

Re: Possibly corrupted file
Based upon what I thought Koz was telling me yesterday I moved the .aup files and _data folder to the desktop. I still cannot open the .aup files. I get two messages: 'couldn't find project data folder: Venita Vinson_data' and 'could not load Venita Vinson_data\Venita Vinson_.aup' That is your prob...

Re: Distorted sound while recording
Have you tried using the dual RCA adapter cable instead of the USB cable? That can be useful if your computer has a line-in (usually blue) separate from the microphone input. If you only have a microphone input you could end up with the opposite problem - recordings distorted because they are too l...

Re: Vinyl transfer normalize track by track or as a whole?
Whenever I record from my turntable, the input is something like -18.0DB despite having the input mixer toolbar at the maximum level. As I pointed out, you should try to fix that otherwise your recordings will be noisier than they need to be. Are you actually recording from the USB Audio CODEC? Doe...

Re: Recording Digitally from Radio
Hello. New to Audacity Form and first post here. A good place to begin if you seek help is to read the pink panel at the top of this page and post in the appropriate board for your operating system. I am interested in recording a particular radio show by connecting a cord, one end to the line out/h...

Re: .wma file is not accepted bij Windows Media Player
Images can be attached as PNG files. Press PrtScr (or ALT + PrtScr to capture a single window), open Paint, Paste, Save as PNG. Please see here for how to attach files: http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=49&t=64936 . Does the WMA file import back into Audacity correctly? Does the file...

Re: Error - Won't start
Did you get a 2.x version of Audacity running by installing the appropriate redistributables? It would be better to try, because 1.3.9 will have lots of bugs that are now fixed in 2.x.brocluno wrote:Good news. the Lame link you provided works just fine![]()

Re: 64 Bit install
It would mean that those Nyquist plugins that put all the audio data into RAM while processing would be able to use much larger selections without crashing (though we should fix that issue anyway). Unfortunately it wouldn't help. The Nyquist library is a third party library developed at CMU, and it...
