Re: Request of performance guid and feature having huge impa
1. How can I improve Audacity performance? Mainly for applying effects on recorded data. I noticed that neither of these resources are fully real-time loaded: CPU (barely affected), HDD (90%), RAM memory (barely affected). - What can I do to decrease HDD load, make it more efficient? Like a setting...

Re: Export a 24bit file
Is it bad to create the file at 24bit and export at 32bit float? It's not bad or harmful, just a waste of space, and not all apps may be able to play 32-bit float. 24-bit and especially 96000 Hz are arguably wasteful, especially if you are only recording speech: http://xiph.org/~xiphmont/demo/neil-...

Re: Windows 10 error opening device or Internal PortAudio er
I tried to download all of the new drivers, and I already have them. There was no audio driver, though. Nothing works so far. From what version of Windows did you upgrade and did you upgrade over that Windows installation, replacing that old version? What is the make and model number of your comput...

Re: Windows 10 error opening device or Internal PortAudio er
I am not sure this is relevant, but I thought it might help. I am still using Audacity 2.1.0-alpha-Jan 12 2015 because of support for Windows WDM-KS. This version of Audacity worked fine under Windows 8.1 x64. It is now working fine under Windows 10 x64. I could and still can record live streaming ...

Re: problem with recorded voice - it's not heard on smartpho
Are you sure that you are actually recording from the Reloop sPOD PRO? I would not expect to see a noticeable amount of DC offset from a microphone in this price range unless it is faulty, or there is a fault somewhere else. On the other hand, recordings from the built-in mic of a laptop computer f...

Re: Normalizing several files of music
Gale, just to tell you about my experience on these previous days using your suggestion. Unfortunately all the different intents I did creating chains has been negatives to get individual tags (data) for each song. In principle, it works. I just tried the "MP3 Conversion" Chain in Audacit...

Re: keep volume level high w/low section of music
I think what you're asking about is "upward compression" in which low parts are raised instead of peaks being smashed down and then ALL of it raised. You can achieve this effect in a blunt manner by selecting the "compress based on peaks" option in Audacity's built-in Compressor...

Re: Zoom view snap-back feature.
OK - this morning I added a user-preset button to my proposal in the Wiki - and I added a vote from MichloIW the initiator of this thread (in the Feature Request page - and in the proposal) . See: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Proposal_new_Zoom_Toolbar Is MichloIW asking for Zoom Presets or a w...

Re: Audacity recognized Dependencies as orphan files.
Please read the pink panel at the top of the page and let us know the version of Audacity (all three numbers) and version of Windows. Was this project a recording that you had not edited yet or something you had been working on where you had applied effects and other edits? If you are using Audacity...

Re: InternalPortAudio error since windows 10 update
When you say you reinstalled the Asus drivers were those Windows 7 drivers? Have you been to http://support.asus.com/download/options.aspx?SLanguage=en&type=1 and checked if ASUS have listed Windows 10 audio drivers for your computer model? If they are providing Windows 10 audio drivers, install...
