Re: Windows 10 error opening device or Internal PortAudio er
Do you mean Robert that stereo mix has to be activated for any WASAPI, MME or DirectSound input to work? If so that seems like a bug somewhere. I have a Gigabyte motherboard with integrated Realtek audio. The Gigabyte download site has an updated (2015/07/21) Realtek HD Audio Driver valid for all W...

Re: Windows 10 error opening device or Internal PortAudio er
I have downloaded the most recent Realtech driver. I have reinstalled Window 10 and still get the initialisation error, What now? The answer is the same as already given. If you have correct Windows 10 audio drivers for your computer model obtained from the computer manufacturer's site, but Audacit...

Re: Spitfish problem: real-time previewed effect is stronger
I noticed enabling effect-preview whilst the track is playing can trigger a crash , maybe 1 in 20 occasions Can you clarify this, Trebor? Writing out numbered steps is often clearer. Does this mean: 1 Play a track. 2 Open Effect menu 3 Choose a real-time preview effect 4 Crash before the effect GUI...

Re: Spitfish problem: real-time previewed effect is stronger
opening a new instance of Audacity, after an effect has been applied to the first instance and the effect is still selected, can be a cause of the effect-preview to stop working I assume this is per your animated GIF, and you are talking about a new window in the same instance of Audacity. Gale

Thanks for the report.
Agreed, I will log it as a bug when I have time if it is not already there.

Re: Windows 10 error opening device or Internal PortAudio er
I have had the same problem.. No audio devices are shown in Audacity at all, these however are shown correctly in all other programmes and work with no problems. I updated from 8.1 where audacity worked correctly. I have reinstalled audacity several times with no luck. All relevant drivers are up t...

Re: Spitfish problem: real-time previewed effect is stronger
As you are on Windows, Trebor and many VST's are Windows only, I think this is better in the Windows board. As you may be aware, real-time preview does not apply latency compensation but applying the effect does, so that is one reason preview and playback of the applied effect may differ (unless you...

Re: Logitech headset records but no sound in headphones
Set the headset as default input and output in /Applications/Utilities/Audio MIDI Setup with the same sample rate and number of recording channels that you intend to use in Audacity . Then restart Audacity and use Device Toolbar in Audacity to choose the recording and playback devices and the number...

Re: removing humming sound from effects pedals
What is the make and model number of the amplifier? Are these hardware pedals, if so the make and model number?
Is the amp or pedal attached to line-in?
Where is the hum heard - in the amp?
