Re: How to export Chain settings in case I reinstalled windo
There is nothing to export. Assuming you are on Windows Vista or later, the text files for each Chain are already saved at Users\<your user name>\AppData\Roaming\Audacity\Chains\ If you are on the insecure Windows XP: Documents and Settings\<your user name>\Application Data\Audacity\Chains\ It is pe...

Re: Recovered Audacity Projects
The audio data is still in existence as long as you have not done File > Close Project. That being the case, force quit Audacity in Task Manager which will preserve the data. What you need to recover is the "AUTOSAVE" file. Before deletion it was at Users\<your user name>\AppData\Roaming\A...

Re: Call for new forum icons
Thanks David. I really don't think we can use non-standard OS icons, whatever else we do. The GNU/Linux icon in particular is unrecognisable.

Re: Lame encoder for windows 10
There is no need to reinstall LAME if you have the same version of Audacity as before.
If you still want to reinstall it, see http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/fa ... .html#lame.

Re: How to use previous lame versions in audacity w/o dll fi
Why do you want to use an older LAME version? See here for how to install the recommended LAME 3.99.3 http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/faq_installation_and_plug_ins.html#lame . If you have some arbitrary lame.exe you want to use for a specific purpose, export using (external program) and point t...

Re: How to Automate Equal Distance?
If the clips are on separate tracks, perhaps you could Tracks > Align Tracks > Align End to End , Tracks > Mix and Render to put them in one track, then search for a plugin to suit your purpose. If the clips are of equal length, you could try Regular interval audio splitter . If there are silences a...

Re: Won't Run on Laptop with Windows 10
Hi! Just upgraded my desktop and laptop to Windows 10. Audacity 2.1.1 runs fine on my desktop, but won't run on my laptop. It hangs trying to start. Any ideas? Audacity does not officially support Windows 10 yet. The first step on both machines (if you have not already done so) is to go to the web ...

Re: Windows 10 issue - Internal PortAudio error
Audacity does not officially support Windows 10 yet. The first step is to go to the web site of the computer manufacturer or motherboard manufacturer and see if you can find audio drivers for Windows 10 meant for your specific computer. If that does not help, please see the posts about the Internal ...

Re: Windows 10 - Internal PostAudio error with Audacity 2.1.
I have solved my problem! I removed my rode podcaster from the device manager and rebooted my computer. After that i let windows reinstall the audio driver and voila Audacity 2.1.1 recognize all of my sound devices. Thanks for letting us know, though I am not quite sure of the details. If you remov...
