Windows 10 Audacity Internal PortAudio error or no devices

UPDATE 09 March 2016 . Audacity has updated our source code to the latest PortAudio sources (r1966). We would like anyone on Windows 10 who had to use Audacity 2.0.3 or earlier to avoid the Internal PortAudio error to see if the latest Audacity "nightly build" now recognizes all your devi...

Re: What is causing this issue?

I am not sure what your complaint is from reading, but from listening, the problem seems to be that some click sounds in "before" now have an audible whooshing noise in them "after." Is that it? Clearly that is a concern here, and in this case I did not find that increasing freq...

Re: Not undoing layout changes when undoing edits

Thank you for your suggestion which is noted. Having more than one undo stack is a significant change, but generally I agree there are cases where undo should not change selections/track selectedness/focus or purely visual states.

Re: No Devices for Playback or Recording

Audacity does not officially support Windows 10 yet. Audacity requires audio drivers it can use. The first step is to go to the web site of the computer manufacturer or motherboard manufacturer and see if you can find the latest audio drivers for Windows 10 meant for your specific computer. This is ...

Re: What is causing this issue?

Audacity only records the signal and noise it receives. What exactly are you trying to record, using what equipment (makes and model numbers, please)? What does your screenshot represent? Is it noise between words or songs, and is that before or after noise removal? And is the peak in the screenshot...

If new drivers are there...

What version of Audacity are you trying to use and where did it come from? What terminal or other error messages do you see?

Could you open it before you attempted to build wx 2.8?

Re: upgrading lame 3.99.3 to 3.99.5

There is now a 3.99.5 lame_enc.dll that should work with Audacity available as a ZIP file at http://lame.buanzo.org/#lamewindl.

It is exactly the same file as the 32-bit 3.99.5 libmp3lame.dll listed at http://www.rarewares.org/mp3-lame-libraries.php, but renamed to lame_enc.dll.

Re: Windows 10 Problems

Hey. I recently upgraded to Windows 10 and was going to edit a file on Audacity, but every time is says there is an internal audio port error when I have a working audio port for iTunes. Audacity does not officially support Windows 10 yet. The first step is to go to the web site of the computer man...

Audacity as shipped does not support ASIO.

If you compile Audacity from source code, you can add ASIO support to it.
