Re: RECOVERED FILE IS COMPRESSED
I started my work from scratch and am currently 75% complete, so I will continue my work and hope it doesn't happen again. File > Save Project As... with different names as you reach "milestones" in the work, and/or export each milestone as a WAV file. Then if something goes wrong at the ...

Re: how to build lame_enc.dll for 3.97 beta ?
You can build LAME with Visual Studio 2008 because I have done it myself. You can probably convert the solution files in later versions of Visual Studio. If you want a lame_enc 3.97 DLL that can be loaded from Audacity's Libraries preferences, try this one (the link is deliberately not clickable): h...

Re: "Internal PortAudio error" when USB FX-unit is plugged
Audacity can't use ASIO unless you compiled Audacity yourself. Audacity does not yet officially support Windows 10. Have you installed the "Line 6 Monkey Installer Version 1.71 Released 7/23/15 for Windows 10" and restarted the computer? See http://uk.line6.com/software/ (change the dropd...

Re: How to use previous lame versions in audacity w/o dll fi
Is it possible to do it on a PC Windows 7, from my google searches it seems like its possible to do it on linux. Compile Audacity? Yes. Get the 2.1.1 release code from https://github.com/audacity/audacity/releases then see win\compile.txt in the code. Compile first wxWidgets 2.8.12 then Audacity. T...

Re: Not undoing layout changes when undoing edits
As Gale wrote, that would be a very big change. In addition, I think that it could be highly problematic in some circumstances. The main problem that comes to mind is that the two lists could easily become desynchronised. Perhaps an alternative approach could be for the normal Undo command (Ctrl+Z)...
