Re: Audicity doesn't show red, yellow, green icons

The Audacity manual is very lacking and the 3 icons I referred to, supposedly on the top left portion, don't exist apparently, except in the manual. This is the current Audacity 2.1.1 manual: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/ What manual are you referring to? Apparently, when I installed V2.0.3, so...

Re: Trouble importing .wav file

What version of Audacity are you using? Please see the pink panel at the top of the page. We do not recommend looking at YouTube videos. We do not make those videos so you take your chances about whether the information is correct and about what version of Audacity the video is referring to. See Imp...

Re: adding labels/chapters to audiobooks

I cannot find anything that seems to mark chapters, it appears as one long file. if I Play it, stop it then try playing it again, it starts from the very beginning. Are you playing it in Tunes? If you rename the M4A file to M4B extension, the file will restart playback from where you left off in iT...

Re: Windows Media Player cannot open the wav file

So that bit rate (2822 kbps) means you exported the file as a 32-bit depth WAV file instead of 16-bit.

Export as 16-bit WAV for burning to audio CD.

Re: Windows Media Player cannot open the wav file

I want to burn some songs with wav files I got from recording YouTube audio from videos with stereo mix on my computer[...] Audacity is at fault because the recorded audio from YouTube don't sound sonically alike Stereo Mix is a conversion from digital to analogue and back to digital. Re: opening audio

I'll encourage the recording software to include some notice to this effect. If you can produce RF64 files Audacity will recognise those of any length. Audacity can also export to RF64, but not unfortunately in a Chain. Audacity can also import "WAV" files over 4 GB using File > Import > ...

Re: Confusing interaction track and global Spectrogram setti

The "getting used to" for global settings not resetting local settings is exactly why I suggested some text in Preferences I appreciate your point, though I think there are other ways that we could make it clearer (possibly in addition to more words in the Preference settings). For exampl...

Re: Win 10 no device error

As the Realtek site and and posts about this in the Forum make clear, drivers obtained directly from the Realtek site are generic and not fully matched to your motherboard. If you have not already done so, go to the web site of the computer manufacturer or motherboard manufacturer and see if you ca...
