Re: File is open in Audacity when it is not
To be honest I am not very familiar with multimedia as I am doing different line of work, but files I am usually opening with Audacity are AMR and sometimes MP3. I did not noticed that behavior using MP3 files (just tried again and it is fine with my 2.1.2), but the AMR files (phone recordings, sam...

Re: compiling Audacity 2.1.0 on OpenSUSE
From this post http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=48&t=95221 you recommended that I use https://github.com/audacity/audacity/releases has source code for 2.1.0 and 2.1.1. You can compile that source code yourself if you wish. I chose the tar.xz version and it extracted to a folder ca...

Re: Little sound from left speaker
Thanks Gale. I will try plugging the unit into the other ports Or try another USB cable, assuming the cable is detachable from the turntable. and if that does not work I will have a go at No3. Online many sites offered a download of USB Audio CODEC - is this a feasible option ? No. You may harm you...

Re: File is open in Audacity when it is not
Were these files requiring FFmpeg - files like WMA, MP4/M4A or AC3? If that is the problem we did not consciously fix it, though for 2.1.3 we did make improvements in removing memory leaks that would hang on to memory when it was no longer required. Note that Audacity does not "open" files...

You did not tell us your Audacity version - see the pink panel at the top of the page. I am having a similar problem. I am also on Windows 10, using a samson UBS mic. Play back on previoiusly recorded files is fine. But I can't record anything new without having it be alvinandthechipmunked. I don't ...

Re: More "Error Opening Sound device"
Assuming you record or play using the built-in sound device, do either of these machines actually have correct audio drivers for the built-in audio device? For example the Toshiba should have the latest audio drivers for Windows 7 from the Toshiba site (64-bit drivers if you have 64-bit Windows). Se...

Re: File is open in Audacity when it is not
What version of Audacity are you using? Please give us all three numbers, see the pink panel at the top of the page. If the files are those that FFmpeg needs to import then it's a known issue, though in the current 2.1.3 release from http://www.audacityteam.org/download/windows I don't see it happen...

Re: Cannot import audio from MP3 files
Files don't play in Media Player. The two on the flash drive that I HAVE been able to open and edit do play in the Media Player just fine. Installing happened automatically, I don't know anything about resetting preferences and settings. See http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/faq_installation_and_p...
