Re: audacity stops without warning
Thank you for the recommendations. I have checked to make sure that the "sound activated recording" and "timer record" are both off. I have talked with Mediashout rep who stated, as was on this board, that Mediashout and Audacity do not play nice together as they are both attemp...

Re: Audacity not responding and recording out of sync
I'm using the most recent audacity People who say that are often not doing so ;) We cannot see your computer. If you want help, please read the pink panel at the top of the page and give us the full Audacity version number (all three numbers) and the version of Windows you are using. If the only pr...

Re: Resampling lower cuts the audio in half
I'm using standard rates from the menu, or pull-down menu. You mean a custom sample rate can be entered? That sounds odd. What would it be used for? There will always be someone who needs some "non-standard" rate for some purpose. The only point I am making is that such non-standard rates...

Re: Do we need the Mixer Board and Karaoke?
Years over time, yet I'd like to express my entry level opinion that the Mixer Board is a very useful tool, because it gives me insight and control over the track input levels. It is much better than the feeble teeny winy sliders in the Track panels. What I miss from the Mixer Board is an option fo...

Re: tag confusion when importing M4A files
I recently had a project that involved converting M4A files (which I've never had reason to work with before) to MP3 format, and I found a number of errors in the way Audacity handles tag conversion. When I import an M4A and then export to MP3, I find that the Edit Metadata box always has the Artis...

Re: Internal error: PortAudio no devices
I have an MP3 recording made with a Sony portable recorder set on its highest quality setting. I need to save the first 47 minutes of a 3.5 hr long MP3 file that is 25MB in size. No matter what combination of options I try I cannot get Audacity to expprt an MP3 file that is smaller than the origina...

Re: Resampling lower cuts the audio in half
The issue happened aGaiN last night while exporting a 22 kHz FLAC to an 11 kHz MP3. Once again, those rates are non-standard. For maximum compatibility export as 11025 Hz by selecting that rate, not by typing in 11000 Hz (if you are doing that). By contrast, 16000 Hz is a standard rate. Here are FO...

Re: Gain sliders moving during playback
I don't think it is relevant but you have audio behind time zero (see "Selection Start" in Selection Toolbar at the bottom of the Audacity window). I still cannot reproduce your issue. Can you try in the latest 2.1.2-alpha development build from the top of http://gaclrecords.org.uk/win-nig...
