Re: Alpha 2.1.2
split cannot be removed when play the track. It will be like this from now on? Sorry I do not understand. Do you mean split lines, when you create a separate clip in the track? You can remove split lines by left-clicking them or by selecting over the lines then CTRL + J (if you are on Windows). You...

Re: Spectral analysis
I'm using the plot spectrum function to analyze white noise recordings, as a control, to make sure our audio system is the same all the time. So you are really also testing if playback is the same, not just if recording is the same, which it won't be, though as Steve said you should get much closer...

Re: Spectral analysis
I just tried to reproduce the problem and ran into a different problem. Audacity 2.1.1 won't analyze a five minute audio clip @8192 size? (attached) It is not a new restriction, in fact the maximum length is longer than it used to be in the past. The restriction is the same whatever the size. Gale

Re: actual time of recording
I would suggest marking points in the waveform with labels . You can put any text in the labels. If you do CTRL + B at any time after starting recording that puts a label at the start of the recording, assuming you don't move the editing cursor from the start. You could type the start time in that l...

Re: InternalPortAudio error since windows 10 update
I have many applications that use the sound system. This includes many that are not from Microsoft, such as Total Recorder, Real Player, and even one that I developed. All media applications are working without issues except for Audacity. As Gale told you, "install Windows 10 drivers (if avail...

Re: Shaded waveform view (when zoomed out)
Perhaps I can try to answer some of these and h-h can correct me if I'm wrong. Pretend we released this as an alternative waveform that does not show RMS. How would the one sentence in the release notes describe it, so that anyone would want to use it? ? Sorry, I don't know that one. Thanks, Steve....

Re: Waveform antialiasing
Now that we have a fresh proposal, I think yes. There may be some votes to count for drawing zoomed in samples with a curved line joining the dots (sinc interpolation) rather than straight lines (linear interpolation). How many - two votes? I think this has also been asked for before a couple of ti...

Re: Recording through mixer/recorder, no sound on playback
Audacity does not officially support Windows 10 yet, and it seems your mixer does not support Windows 10. So unpredictable behaviour is possible. Do you have the expected tall blue waves after you record? If so, choose the playback device you want to use in Audacity's Device Toolbar . Occasionally A...
