If you know where 2.0.6 is, quit it, then in the folder where it is, double-click "unins000.exe" to uninstall Audacity.

Yes.

Re: Call for new forum icons

As before, no objections from me to a trial, using the "more official" OS icons.

Re: Numeric text input widget for Nyquist plug-ins

When we get version 5 plug-ins, I'd like "slider widgets" to be only the slider (no text box), which is how it works in WxWidgets. What we currently call a "slider widget" (text box + slider) will be a compound widget made of a text-box widget and a slider widget. This has the b...

Re: Pause activated unduly

What are you trying to record, using what equipment? You have to choose the recording source you want to record from in Device Toolbar . See http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/faq_recording_troubleshooting.html#flatline for more help. If you are recording computer playback see Tutorial - Recording...

Re: Converting Line In on Laptop to Record External Audio

My computer is a Lenovo Y40. There's an internal speaker, but I'd like to use the Line In for the audio source. I know it operates as a microphone for a headset, so the recording capability is present. Did you read the Lenovo manual about how to make the audio port an input? Bi-directional audio po...

Re: Joining au files Audacity 2.1.0 after timed recording

There is no need to save a project unless you want to. After Timer Record completes, just cancel the warning about save project or cancel the dialogue to choose the name of the AUP file. Then you can export.

Re: Specific audio format

It's called "U-Law". Choose "Other uncompressed files" then click the Options... button. Choose WAV (Microsoft) header and U-Law encoding. Choosing U-Law makes it 8-bit.

Re: Call for new forum icons

I've applied some corrections, in particular to the GNU LINUX and MAC OS X icons. Now they're the official ones Thanks, David. The colour of the Windows one is not a colour that Microsoft uses, as far as I can tell. For Windows (as opposed to Windows Phone) the colour should be this: https://c.s-mi...

Re: Shaded waveform view (when zoomed out)

Does the red variable height centre line represent the area of maximum number of samples? The red line is the zero line which is fixed. Is has nothing to do with average sample values. OK - the variable height is an optical illusion then - I see that illusion at a distance. A shaded waveform view w...

Re: Amplitude Graphic Invisible - Latency Error?

I found I had to goto the system volume control in task bar, click on recording devices, find disabled devices, ENABLE STEREO MIX. Now recording works as expected. Why it was recording before without StereoMix, I will never know. The Windows WASAPI (loopback) input that you were trying to use befor...
