Thanks I'll count your "vote" for that. But it probably won't happen in the default button set, as some are opposed to any extra buttons.

Re: USB DAC
WASAPI loopback is digital. There is full interaction with the Windows system mixer unless you enable both "Exclusive Mode" boxes in Windows Sound . Even if you enable Exclusive Mode, PortAudio (Audacity's audio API) forces capture in 32-bit float. So you can't escape all conversions, howe...

Re: Bitrate for recording with Realtek and low volume
what sampling rate I should set my on-board Realtek ALC889A soundcard. It depends what host you choose in Device Toolbar (and probably does not matter too much if you are not making overdubs). See http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Windows_7_OS#sample_rates . low levels I experience using what was &...

Re: Unable to record using a Blue Yeti (USB)
I changed it for DirectSound and now the cursor moves but nothing is recorded. Have you tried the default MME choice? That is the most compatible host. I had a look back to the link ( http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/faq_recording_troubleshooting.html#pauses ) koz sent me and found a section fo...

Re: Unable to record using a Blue Yeti (USB)
Look in your screenshot. You have the host in the first box in Device Toolbar set to Windows WASAPI. Change the host in that box.Gmaz wrote:You lost me there. What is MME or DirectSound and how do I try them?Gale Andrews wrote:
I suggest trying MME or Windows DirectSound host instead of Windows WASAPI.

Re: Unable to record using a Blue Yeti (USB)
The only possible cause I can imagine would be low resources. Perhaps, in which case restart the computer. Also try my suggestion of changing to MME or Windows DirectSound. Make sure Edit > Preferences... > Recording section > "Audio to buffer" is not set too low. On Windows it should nor...

If you still get little audible gaps between tracks when setting the track gap to zero, see Gapless burning.

Re: controls not working?
That was it! I thought I'd tried everything, and it is silly that I thought I'd tried that, but evidently not. Excellent. What a handy program once that solution opened up the gates to understanding everything else I needed to try! :) We have FAQ's for common questions like that: ;) http://manual.a...
