Re: Latency Correction Setting

The recording has stalled. You are probably out of resources. You need to cold boot the computer regularly to use USB recording devices. To cold boot, click the Windows Start button, then Power, then hold SHIFT on your computer keyboard and click "Shut down". Gale Greetings all, I am havin...

Re: Recording from open reel cassettes

We don't make any "2.1" version so a good start may be to get the current Audacity 2.1.3 from http://www.audacityteam.org/download/windows . Then please try reading the tutorials/FAQs http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/tutorial_copying_tapes_lps_or_minidiscs_to_cd.html http://manual.audaci...

Re: How to make the mark to continue to listen to a sound...

You can add a label then save a project.

Audacity plays from the editing cursor in saved projects. Audacity remembers the position of the editing cursor in saved projects, but not if you already saved changes to the project and then move the cursor.

Re: Invalid character number + Open' command to open...

Thanks for following up. Ok I solved myself. Sorry for the panic from a total noob. So in the end, what was needed after applying the "Why do I get "Error: not well formed (invalid token) at line x"?" method was to put the setting "ANSI" when doing Save As in Notepad. B...

edwinn wrote:Everything is working ok with 2.1.3 so far (I think) and I'm intending to uninstall 2.1.2 which is in a separate folder.

However only 2.1.3 shows up Programs and Features. How best to uninstall 2.1.2?
Run "unins000.exe" in the 2.1.2 folder.

Re: Cannot see line-in

If you have a standard laptop, you probably only have a microphone-in, not a line-in. What are you recording? What version of Audacity? Please see the pink panel at the top of the page You enable inputs in Windows Sound and then you choose the enabled input you require in Audacity's Device Toolbar ....

Re: Suppressing digital and analog audio feedback

We can only help you with Audacity here. DDP is proprietary and will probably involve buying software that handles the format - probably not what most of our users want. Standalone but still free CD burning applications often include error verification/correction. Gale Hello, Gale and other users. I...

Re: Audacity crashes due to the mouse malfunction:

Are you using 2.0.6 because you lack SP3 or SSE2? If SP3 is the problem, you should install it, because it will improve the security on your computer (but not as much as installing Linux or later Windows instead). Double-click on the gain/pan slider should open a dialogue box for gain/pan adjustment...
