Are you recording from the USB connection? That ought to be preferable.

Re: 3rd time not the charm: No volume exporting mp3
Koz, I tried your test. Open a fresh Audacity. Generate > Noise: Pink, 0.5 amplitude, 1 minute duration > OK. File > Export Audio > MP3. Inside the Audacity program yes I hear the pink noise. But when i export to mp3 I do not. Its almost like I have turned off my speakers or something. Can it be so...

Re: Can I Uninstall 2.1.0 if I Have 2.1.1 Installed
According to the program listing in Control Panel, I have both Audacity 2.1.0 and 2.1.1 installed. Can I safely uninstall 2.1.0? Yes, if Koz's arguments against don't matter to you. But the entry for 2.1.0 could be redundant if you already uninstalled it, in which case you can remove the entry from...

Re: Audacity 2.1.1: Downgrade from Win 10 to Win 7?
Audacity can be set in compatibility mode. But I have seen no evidence yet from anyone who lacked Windows 10 compatible audio drivers that compatibility mode made Audacity 2.1.1 recognize devices. If the latest audio-driver software available isn't compatible with windows 10 , then users may be abl...

Re: Aud 2.1.1, Win 7, no stereo mix, HP laptop
(Can I pause to say that's the first time I've ever downloaded drivers and it was a total nightmare. The HP site not auto recognising, the program they wanted to download not initially downloading, and then not working, and then the new audio driver not initialling working properly. HP are a total ...

Re: Audacity don't start
The default temp folder is C:\Users\<your user name>\AppData\Local\Temp\audacity_temp You can set the temp folder path in the audacity.cfg settings file. It's at: Users\<your user name>\AppData\Roaming\Audacity\ If you cannot see that folder, type %appdata% into the Explorer address bar. Gale

Re: Audacity 2.1.1: Downgrade from Win 10 to Win 7?
Audacity does not yet officially support Windows 10. Audacity tends to be quite fussy about sound card drivers - it's like the canary in the mine - if there is a sound card driver problem, Audacity will find it ;) Personally I would recommend that before updating to Windows 10, users should check t...

Re: Change volume in one clip
... I could not raise the volume with the envelope tool You have to zoom-out on the vertical (amplitude/volume) scale to do that : place the cursor somewhere on the vertical scale, (it will become a magnifying-glass icon) , then click on the right-hand mouse-button. The vertical scale now extends f...

Re: No sound line and no play back
The answer is the same as I gave you from our feedback address, that is please tell us the make and model number of the mic and your version of Windows and Audacity. See the pink panel at the top of the page. For example perhaps you need to stand closer to the mic or boost its level, or change the p...

Re: Shaded waveform view (when zoomed out)
How did you render Steve's two mixed tones - how are you running your algorithm? If others could experiment with it using their own audio they may be more convinced. I attached the converter program to the first post so first-readers may use it right away. OK thanks, I must have missed it right at ...
