Re: Converting audio to text
Audacity does not run on iOS. Please give us the necessary Audacity and OS X information from the pink panel at the top of the page. Mac Dictation is designed to work by talking into a microphone but you can try following http://www.leveluplunch.com/blog/2013/12/30/convert-recorded-audio-text-using-...

Re: Audacity 2.1.1 crashes on Yosemite OS X 10.10.5
Thank you for the report. Please tell us exactly what actions trigger the crash. Are you launching Audacity by double-clicking an MP3 file, or by dragging an MP3 to the Audacity icon in Finder or in the Dock? If so, how long is the MP3 file? We know there is some instability that we think is somethi...

Re: Editing multiple files
Am I even in the right place to ask this question? No. See the pink panel at the top of the page. MP3Tag is for Windows so if we guessed your operating system wrong, you can't use MP3Tag. If you are exporting to lossy formats like MP3 or MP4 you should not use Audacity just to change the metadata b...

Re: Can't mute microphone when recording vinyl
Just discovered that under the Windows WASAPI Audio host it does give me a USB option for recording but I am trying that and nothing records! All the Audacity hosts should see the USB Audio CODEC recording device. What is the make and model number of the turntable? 2.1.0 is the previous Audacity ve...

See Exporting to an External Program - Audacity Manual.AudioSpirit wrote:If I was using the codec directly, I would only need to add this option: --padding=262144

Re: Windows 10 error opening device or Internal PortAudio er
I created an account to post my solution to this problem. Turns out I had a program called Morphvox installed which created a software mic called screaming bee. Disabled said mic and re-scanned for audio devices under transport and bam no more problems. Windows 10 SB Audigy Audacity 2.1.0 Thanks, n...

Re: InternalPortAudio error since windows 10 update
Interestingly, I took the advice to downgrade and install 2.0.2. Problem solved no more error messages in Win 10. Another solution if Windows 10 drivers for your audio device are available would be to install those drivers, as you would when upgrading to any new version of Windows. IAnother point o...

Re: Debug report when creating new chain
A workaround to use EQ in a Chain in 2.1.1 would be to use Save/Manage Curves... in the Equalization effect to save the curve you want to use as a named curve. Then change "Equalization:CurveName" in the file for your Chain at Users\<your user name>\AppData\Roaming\Audacity\Chains to the r...

Re: Debug report when creating new chain
Thanks for writing.
To submit the Debug Report you would have to actually attach the zip file that is produced.
We did discover this problem after 2.1.1 was released and it is now believed fixed, so should be fixed in the next 2.1.2 release of Audacity.
