Re: No Waveform when open a WAV File
I get this, befor format Win 7 and install the latest Audacity version. When that happens, it usually means that there is a problem with your Audacity temporary directory. See Edit > Preferences... then the "Directories" section for the location of your Audacity temporary directory. Make ...

Re: No Waveform when open a WAV File
The Latest Version on Windows 7. Please give us all three Audacity version numbers as requested (see the pink panel at the top of the page). The current Audacity version is 2.1.1. You can get it here: http://audacityteam.org/download/windows . I have used Audacity for many years, and this is the fi...

Re: Cursor stuck using Zoom H4n
Audacity recognized the device and it is listed in each of the drop-boxes of select-able devices to use. The project rate is set to 44100Hz, same setting is applied to the device. All options are default such as latency correction, etc. Overdub is selected, Software playthrough is not selected, and...

Re: Shaded waveform view (when zoomed out)
Are you saying the darker shading fading out close to the centre line is a defect of the rendering, or does it mean something? How else would you want to render the waveforms for both the zoomed-out and the zoomed-in view (until you see waves)? When you see waves, they have to appear at the right l...

Re: Shaded waveform view (when zoomed out)
what do you think about a waveform colored accoring to frequency as described previously? You mean according to where your shadings suggest frequency changes occur? No, I'm refering to Robert's post and my picking up of the ideas (see end of post) . Is there only RMS as a potentially valuable infor...

Re: No Waveform when open a WAV File
I try to open a wave file for edit with Audacity, but no waveform is drawing... I have installed the latest version, and the LAME and FFMPEG libraries. Please read the pink panel at the top of the page and tell us your version of Audacity and Windows. When you import a WAV file you should see an op...

Re: Creating a Chain with Regular Interval Labels & 2x Volum
You would have to compile Audacity for scripting support and then be able to program.
I gather you want to split large files into smaller equally sized files having applied +6 dB amplitude. Correct?
Are there other effects you want to apply?
What format are the original files in?

Re: InternalPortAudio error since windows 10 update
After installing 2.0.2 and running a test on it, I still had 2.1.1 on the computer and now it works as well. Go figure. Fluke? Maybe not. I've seen cross-influences like that before. Thanks for letting us know. If 2.1.1 gives the PortAudio error again, and you have to run 2.0.2 to make 2.1.1 see de...

Re: Audacity 2.1.1 crashes on Yosemite OS X 10.10.5
Here is my process: I find the Audacity app through Spotlight and click on the app. When Audacity opens, I click on File/Import then open an MP3 file from a desktop folder. After a few moments, Audacity crashes and the dialogue box appears asking if I wish to report the crash to Apple. The same pro...
