Re: Audacity RMS requirements too low!
As Koz said, download from http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Nyquist_Analyze_Plug-ins#ACX_Check . If it is easier, right-click over the "View" Link then choose Save Link as or Save Target as. Using Audacity 2.1.1, see http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/effect_menu.html#nyquist_effects fo...

Re: 2.1.1 Hangs and/or Crashes on Sound Activated Recording
After extracting the ZIP into the Downloads folder I just double-clicked Audacity.app from the extracted folder.cmac185 wrote:Bad download isn't likely since the Zip opened without problems. How did you install it? I just had Finder unzip it and then dropped the Audacity folder on to Applications.

Re: Distortion/interference on Audacity recordings
I have a desktop, not a laptop. I am using the blue line in plug. If it were hardware or a matter of having the plugs in the right place would it distort internal audio recordings too? (recording from a streaming feed) How are you recording the streaming audio - stereo mix? Can you post a sample of...

Re: Help! Can someone assist with this odd problem?
I'm asking for the size of the temp folder. What matters is how much disk space there is, in my opinion, but we still don't have an answer to that. It may matter how much RAM there is too, if only a few GB of RAM are present. Yes, if it was a stereo recording at default 44100 Hz 32-bit float, it wi...

Re: Help! Can someone assist with this odd problem?
I can see that the never-saved file is using over 1 million K of physical memory. That 1 GB of memory usage is probably why Audacity is frozen up, assuming you are not out of disk space. Are you out of disk space? If not, the safest approach is to copy the temp folder (which you say you can see) to...

"Audacity 2.0.6 version fixed an issue that projects did not reopen correctly if they contained tracks having 2^31 samples or greater of audio (just over 13.5 hours at 44100 Hz)." http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Release_Notes_2.1.0 Unfortunately as you were using 2.0.3 and that problem ...

Re: Help! Can someone assist with this odd problem?
Whatever you're doing isn't there. At the 13 hour mark (assuming default Audacity sound quality settings) Audacity will have started to step on or destroy the old recording with new sound. It will do that every 13 hours assuming the program doesn't crash. Old Audacity had a limit to the amount of f...
