You would not always want it with export multiple.

Re: Record two mono channels simultaneously

As I understand it, Audacity currently records the tracks from multi-channel devices in random order, and users need to select the maximum number of channels to be sure of recording the channels they want (the other channels they don't want will be silent tracks). I've not used multi-channel record...

Re: Record two mono channels simultaneously

Device Toolbar Recording Channels would be the most obvious to me I've been mulling this over - it's not really a "device" option. The related "device" option is "how many channels". How Audacity groups/arranges the recording tracks has nothing to do with the device (o...

Re: distortion

I forgot: Windows7 pro. latest version of Audacity Is that 2.1.1? Please look at Help > About Audacity... and confirm all three version numbers. (it just works fine on two other computers which have Realteck devices). The computer in case has a Gforce card (video and sound but don't find any record...

Re: How can I join 2 audio files to make it sound natural ?

Were you using Find Zero Crossings before deleting? This is often all that is needed for mono tracks. Otherwise you can perform a rapid fade in on clicks resulting from deletes.

See: Why do I hear clicks when I remove or paste audio, or at the start or end of the track?

Re: distortion

Please read the pink panel at the top of the page and give us that information. 1) importing MP3 and listening is OK 2) recording with an external sound card is OK 3) recording "what you hear" gives a strong distortion. Try turning off Transport > Software Playthrough. The microphone curso...

Re: Audacity 2.1.1 not splitting tracks properly in Yosemite

Uninstalled 2.1.1 and found an older version (2.0.4). Did same process and it worked fine. Not sure if it's some bug in the new release or not. If it is, obviously we would like to fix it, but you would need to give us exact steps so that we could reproduce the problem. The procedure works for me w...

Re: transferring music from a cassette

I still cannot figure out what the issue is with playback. Is the recording length shorter than expected? If so, it is a recording problem, not a playback problem. I have Audacity 2.0.3. The song sounds fine when I play it through the cassette player. When I play it back after recording a song it s...
