Re: prompt "Save changes before closing?"
This is a good point, and I've been thinking of it since I started. No changes are made but the question is still asked. You aren't keeping track of changes. Audacity imports an MP3 into a project then that project has unsaved changes. Naive users often delete their MP3 or other files after importi...

Re: Cross-fade clips
Just got the latest version with this feature. Try reading the pink panel at the top of the page and giving us that information. Latest version could mean 2.1.1 or 2.1.2-alpha and that could make a difference. The cross-fade fails to cross-fade. It only fades out the first half and fades in the sec...

Re: Removing directories
Using Audacity 2.06 on Windows 8.1. Trying to upload music file with AIFF extension to Createspace.com for publication. Receiving error message from Createspace: "Your upload file cannot contain folders or directories." Createspace support refuses to help. My question: Can Audacity help m...

Re: Bug while changing Pitch effect
My windows is set to Portuguese (Brazil). In Brazil the decimal separator is a comma ",". I think you got right to the root of the problem. Audacity is getting confused about decimal separator. I have downgraded to 2.0 and now it is working fine. And was Windows installed in Portuguese (B...

Re: Bug while changing Pitch effect
As yet I could not reproduce the problem either, on Windows 10. I think the cause is that the decimal separator in Change Pitch in your picture is showing as a decimal point. The separator should be a comma. Your audacity.cfg shows the Audacity language is pt_BR. I cannot get the decimal point separ...

Re: Audacity 2.1.1 not splitting tracks properly in Yosemite
Thanks for the screenshot. I can partially reproduce the problem - the exports are wrong for the files relating to the labels up to and including the last label for the first Audacity track. The wrong exports include audio ending at that last label. The exports seem correct for the remaining labels....

Re: Audacity 2.1.1 not splitting tracks properly in Yosemite
Thanks for your response. I can't take a screenshot of what I was doing because I uninstalled the version that was giving me the trouble. I was able to do what I wanted to do with the older version. That doesn't matter if in 2.0.4 you can recreate the exact same layout you were using in 2.1.1. Or i...

Re: Sudden static noise only when editing
Please read the pink panel at the top of the page and give us the requested information. I was working on a track yesterday, where I was editing together two different songs, one that was recorded and emailed to me, one that I downloaded from Youtube, which I do frequently. I saved it, put my comput...
