Re: Removing directories
Their customer support could not or would not help. That is not Audacity's fault. Have you tried asking at their community https://www.createspace.com/en/community/index.jspa ? try a different music software, other than Audacity. Why would it make any difference, unless the error you see is speciou...

Re: Audacity 2.1.2 Alpha - CPU usage
Using Yosemite, I see CPU usage about normal, about 35% until I minimize the window then the cpu usage about doubles, 75%+. Hiding the window does the same thing. With 2.1.1 it runs about 37 - 38% normally, minimized is about the same, but hiding (CMD+H) drops the CPU usage to about 10% which is ni...

Re: How to record a voicemail from a landline
As another angle, where is the voicemail now? On some kind of answering machine?Gloweire wrote:Hi, I was wondering if anyone knows how to record a voicemail from a landline on my computer using Audacity. I believe it can be done with Audacity and Skype. Anyone got any ideas?

Re: 2.1.1 repeatedly freezes... Ubuntu 15.04 - 64
I think I am already using the parameters you described... Here's a picture of my settings ... I still have almost 400 GB of free disk space, so I don't think that the size of the audio files will be an issue for the computer... But is it OK to do it all in one big file, or is it safer to make a se...

Re: Unable to import large (500MB) WAV files
Tried importing one track again, this time shifting the Audacity tmp/working directory to the external (USB) drive also holding the WAV files (200GB free space)... Same behaviour - big CPU hit and disk activity (but not much writing to disk), no visible progress in interface, but steadily mounting ...

Re: Audacity will not save or export Windows 10
The project still opens and plays when you press play. I does not ever give me a chance to put a file name in. When I click save or export from the file drop down, nothing happens the dialog box to enter a file name never appears. Uninstall the Audacity version you have now. Run a deep anti-virus c...

Re: No sound in headphones while recording
"Fixed" my issue with the same clicks as you suggested. Yup , i can record and hear it, but as Im sure you knew, with about a 3 second delay "Listen to this Device" should have less delay than that, but it's still software playthrough rather than hardware playthrough. Right-clic...

Yes. Read Leveler - Audacity Manual. We are only keeping Limiter until we release a new distortion effect.geosv wrote:Really?Leveler creates distortion.

Re: Opening .mwk Audio Files
WC: I have that software on the original CD. Sometimes older versions will still run (with complications) on a newer PC but not in this case; I tried. Yes, finding an older PC is a possibility but I hoped Audacity or another current program would open the files. There is a trial version of QuickSco...

Re: Cross-fade clips
For the moment I'll just reply 2.1.1. Are you saying 2.1.2 changed it? In this case, no. But I'm saying to save ambiguity, please always give all three version numbers (plus for alpha builds, the date that is part of the version string). I saw no offer of a 2.1.2. 2.1.2 is not released yet, hence t...
