Re: records background noise
Please read the pink panel at the top of the page and give us the necessary information. I have recorded a dozen or so cassette tapes with no problem. Yesterday, I opened Audacity and prepared to record another cassette. As I have always done, I hit the pause button and then hit the record before I ...

Re: Freezing and stuttering on playback
If you choose the (hw) devices you will bypass pulse, even if it is installed. But then if Audacious is using the sound device, Audacity will not be able to do so.rmcellig wrote:I have it set to Default. Should I be using a distro that does not have Pulse installed?

Re: Equalizer range
Also wanted to take an opportunity to mention that in Aud v1 there was the preset NAB equalizer (National Assoc of Broadcasters, US). I liked that one sometimes but you dropped it from v2. If you want NAB back, see http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/EQCurvesDownload#EQ_Curves_for_old_recordings . Gale

Re: error importing project
The AUP file you attached is empty. It can't be used. Please tell us more about what you did before saving that project. Was it a recording? If so, had you edited it, or did you simply record, save project then exit Audacity? Did you turn off the computer, or did it crash while you were saving the p...

Did you mean "retensions" - makes taut againwaxcylinder wrote:Another good tip is to rewind the tape all the way to the end and then back again before making the playback for recording as this retentions the tape.

Re: Freezing and stuttering on playback
Are you choosing the "pulse" or "default" playback device in Device Toolbar ? If so, please see: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Linux_Issues#pulse . Another alternative is to chose the (hw) playback device instead, which will bypass pulse and access the hardware directly. That...

Re: Adjustable Fade will not start
Adjustable Fade is not a new, not yet released plugin, so I moved this to the Windows board. I run Win 7 and all the features in the box starting with Adjustable fade do not work. Error message: Failed to initialize Have you moved the plugin "adjustable-fade.ny"? If you have been running A...

Re: Auto splitting tracks by specified length of time?
After so many years, here's someone who still needs this. I will certainly aporeciate having a look at your software (skaap) that does the quick label editing. Otherwise, it seems I will follow your tip since other tools also failed to provide such a simple function effectively (tried mp3splitter, ...

Re: error importing project
So today I was working on a project that consisted on an mp3 file and a few recordings. Finally I wanted to do something else so I saved the project. I came back later and tried to open it, through File<Open but it says there was an error importing the data and I should try using Import Raw, so I t...
