Re: Audacity 2.0 CD
Months ago I purchased a tape machine with Audacity 2.0 CD to transfer tapes to disk or memory stick. I now have a new computer with Windows 10. Will Audacity 10 work on Windows 10 and if not, where can I purchase an updated CD. I still have over 200 tapes to transfer, so am in a real bind over thi...

Re: Focusrite Saphire 14. Can't select correct input
But I'm still puzzled as to whether it's Audacity that sticks the spdif in 5 & 6 or the focusrite ? We've answered this already. It's the Focusrite. As I'd still like to get round this problem if possible. I doubt you will be able to get round it with Audacity as shipped. Your best chance would...

Re: Something's messing with my mic levels
Also if you want "bit perfection" you won't be able to get that in Audacity on any operating system because it always captures at 32-bit float (that is, upconverts the bit depth). Are you suggesting Audacity always converts to 32 bit float, and then converts back down to the quality setti...

Re: Something's messing with my mic levels
WASAPI is currently useless on my system. It will not record a second track if I've already got one. ("Error opening sound device..." no matter what I've tried.) You did not give the entire error. If it says that the problem is with playback, then probably you need to make Windows Default...

Re: solving latency problem recording with zoomh5
i can hear it on the monitor, but there is a latency and i am worried i won't be able to solve this. I want to be able to lay down new tracks along with existing tracks, but if there is this lag, i don't see how that is possible. Is there any way to defeat this? I want to hear what i'm playing in t...

Re: Audacity recording quality drops when screen recording
Best not to record games and commentary with Audacity involved. Use other software to do the entire job. such as OBS or VoiceMeeter Banana. If it's the mic that you are trying to record in Audacity, turn off all enhancements in Windows Sound http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/faq_recording_troublesh...

Re: Focusrite Saphire 14. Can't select correct input
I'm puzzled as to why on Garageband spdif is on Ch 1&2. So is it audacity that makes spdif Ch 5&6 on audacity, or the my Focusrite saffire pro that does so ? From the image you posted, Audio MIDI Setup itself sees S/PDIF as channels 5 and 6. That is probably why Steve thinks it is a hopeles...

Re: Focusrite Saphire 14. Can't select correct input
Also did you try Soundflower? I don't see any way to route individual channels in the most recent version of Soundflower. "Soundflowerbed" is no longer part of Soundflower, so the only configuration I can find is the normal Mac Audio and Midi setup. If it makes any difference, you can sti...
