Re: Song Direction
I'd like the escape key also to cancel the label edit mode, i.e. undo the creation of a label or setting the label back to its original content, before entering edit mode. That makes sense, if we user ESC more widely. As well as making it more obvious when you are (accidentally) in Scrub, I think i...

Re: How to Remove the hardcoded maximum of 1000000 Hz for SR
I just want remove the limite sample rate output in resampler menu, i think is not really complicated. Build wxWidgets first, then build Audacity, without modifying it. This is the best way if you are a beginner. Look at this file in the Audacity source code: audacity/mac/Build.txt . That file tell...

Re: Export labels doesn't work
U have correct. I mean that audio labels, not the text ones. and I also mean multiple... So what to do? As I explained, your can add the text that you are currently putting into labels into the track names, instead of using labels, then it will work. Or if you want to use labels, Edit > Select > Al...

Re: Compressor in v2.1.1 throws error when run as Chain scri
I have never "compiled" a program. I am concerned about the time necessary for the learning curve. I have a little bit of other programming experience (JavaScript, GAS, spreadsheets). Any guesses on how much time this could take? Weeks? Months? When I start over with a new Windows install...

Re: Error: Internal PortAudio error
Thanks for the update. I wonder if that arrangement will survive the next reboot? :) If you have changed the BIOS, Windows may very likely do a deeper re-initialisation than otherwise. The default "Shut Down" is by default not a "cold boot" - it retains the original kernel sessio...

Re: Unable to import large (500MB) WAV files
Ok, tried scrubbing my cfg file and upgrading to 2.1.1 via the PPA... no change in behaviour - in fact Audacity crashes after churning for 10 min, still no visible feedback through interface - I just watch the virtual RAM increasing (no appreciable change to disk space)... *sigh* Did you uninstall ...

Re: audacity did not recognize the type of the file...
like the previous comment advised, closing Audacity fixed this problem. The question is, of course....why? There is no legitimate reason I know of, but Koz's idea was to avoid possible mistakes that could occur if you used the File Menu to open the project (like using Import instead of Open). Audac...

Re: Error not well-formed (invalid token) at line 937
I have Audacity version 2.0.6 and Windows 10. Just 30 min ago i was recording an audio sample and my PC froze. You should take that seriously and find out why it froze. It could be some incompatible driver or hardware on your machine. Please see http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/faq_errors.html#...

Re: LOST ALL DATA!!
AS you suspected I don't have enough storage! As a factual point, to have saved your five hours as a stereo Audacity project (AUP) you'd have needed by default a minimum of 6 GB, and in practice a bit more to allow for moving all the data around. If you were exporting a 16-bit WAV or an MP3, you ne...

Re: Windows 10 upgraded from windows 7
Has just repeated the error: Opened Audacity normally - not administrator mode - opened a project that was made in windows 7 before upgrading, zoomed in on a piece to repair. Marked the piece to repair, opened the effect menu, chosed repair command, and the whole screen was blanked out. Zoomed out ...
