Re: Audacity will not save or export Windows 10

I did the above suggestion of uninstalling and re-installing and no luck. Were you sure to enable "Reset Preferences" when you reinstalled? If not, please do that. It will still not export of save even with new files. I even tried running it in compatibility mode in Windows. I think all w...

Re: Error: Internal PortAudio error

I don't know if the problem has been permanently solved for me but after upgrading from Windows 7 Pro to Windows 10 on a little box with a Realtek card built in the MB and a Behringer U-control external card, Audacity had stopped working with the Internal PortAudio Error. I removed the external car...

Re: WAV file is not read

Here is the sndfile-info output for one of the WAV files in your 7z (Audacity can open both those files). On Windows 10 I have not yet got this app to produce any files that have a data chunk understandable to libsndfile. Ok, while I was trying to reproduce the issue I realized the bad file comes o...

Re: Bug: default sample format ignored for imports

I don't think this rates more than P4 on the whole. I suppose that depends on how high we rate the importance of "best possible sound quality" and "ease of use". Both of these aspects would be improved if we handled sample formats "intelligently". I think there is an a...

Re: White Space

Audacity should provide an option to render leading "white space" as silence in exported files. That empty space at the start of tracks in the exported file. Would make it so much easier when sending vocal tracks out for mixing and mastering. :D If you don't mind empty space at the end of ...

Re: WAV file is not read

In which way this is not "normal"? It's an 8 channel, signed 32-bit float RIFF file. The really strange thing is that Audacity never had this kind of problem other times. Even if that program always results in this kind of file. Here is the sndfile-info output for one of the WAV files in ...

Re: Song Direction

A good start Paul (but only a start) would be to fix Bug #1053 http://bugzilla.audacityteam.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1053 where Gale suggest the left part of the Status Bar should say "Scrubbing" rather than "Playing" when in scrub mode (and possibly change to "Seeking" whi...

Re: Song Direction

Should you not be able to enable Scrub Play when already standard-playing, without having to click? Engaging the suggested Scrub Play button could do that, too. That goes beyond user interface changes and would require more work to get the playback engine to cooperate. It might be worth considering...

Re: duration and size not shown in burning software

I put all tracks on a playing list, and the durations appeared. As I suggested. ;) they are still listed as "0 second" and "O Mo" . We cannot help you with no information to go on. Is this Windows Media Player 11? You may have to play the file in Windows Media Player to see the ...
