Re: Lock tool bar arrangement
Our minimum is 1024*768 now. Our "design minimum" is 1024 x 768, but the main window may be resized smaller than that. It becomes awkward, but remains (mostly) usable down to an extremely small window size. Some DAW applications (example Ardour 3) cannot be resized to less than 1024 x 768...

Re: Sensible defaults could make Audacity a lot better
Then it would need to be resampled to match the destination's sample rate, of course. Otherwise, you end up with a track that has different sample rates. Yes, but I was not meaning that. I was meaning, given you want to hide Audacity's potentially misleading file storage information and instead sho...

Re: Lock tool bar arrangement
If Audacity operated as it does now and the "Lock" function was only activated by the user requesting it via the Preferences then he can expect the popup and would pay attention to it. In a perfect world. Users quite often change Preferences without realising it and don't take in messages...

Re: Audacity Not Recording
I recently purchased a new laptop that utilizes Windows 10. I downloaded the latest version of Audacity Which version is that? 2.1.1? 2.1.2-alpha? We always want to know all three version numbers. I'm a play-by-play sportscaster and I have entire game broadcasts saved on my computer. If I want to r...

Re: Lock tool bar arrangement
Thanks, Steve. So basically the containers are subdivisons of the upper tooldock area, but each container could also be undocked? I dislike the "jumping around" when expanding the windows but see the need for it when reducing. I would not be keen on the Locked Toolbar idea and popup, eithe...

Re: Sensible defaults could make Audacity a lot better
Yes, Gale, that sums it up nicely. Showing information about the imported file is quite a common request. Koz has voted for it many times but I try to remember to restrict him to 1 vote. ;) But it is not so clear where to show the information. What happens if I generate a tone into some or all of t...

Re: Won't recognize Microphone
Why does Sound Preferences not see the "Built-in Microphone" that Audacity does? Does the internal mic get disabled when you connect that cable? Have you tried recording from that "Built-in Microphone" source, in case there is a naming confusion? If that does not help, try going ...

Re: .AUP divorced from .AU files Need help!
Mac OS X 10.9.5 Audacity 2.1.0 Hi there - After recording an interview of about an hour in length, I stopped and went about my merry way. Going back in to retrieve and open the file, I discovered the .aup was empty and received an error mssg (see attachment) The AUP file can't be empty, surely. If ...
