Re: Records Only Right Channel

It is better not to jump into someone else's topic with a completely unrelated question. I started a new topic for you. I connected a synthesizer into my desktop PC " line in " (stereo) input. The sound that came from this instrument is definitely stereo ! I set input like this in Audacity...

Re: lame command line export

vbr-new is very noticeably faster. Yes, of course. Most people should use it, until they find a case where the result is less good than they expected for the target bit rate. At low bit-rates vbr-old has a lower high-frequency cut-off, so could sound subjectively less "swishy" because mor...

Re: Problem importing audio

...the audio imports but I only see a line and have no sound. So, you can play it in Audacity and you hear it, but you can't see the waveform? ....I'm betting you can't hear it and it's not actually importing. If the "line" is the correct length of the song it's almost certainly got to be...

I don't think so, unless your Audacity temp directory is set to a folder that iTunes manages.

Re: Problem importing audio

Look at Edit > Preferences... then "Directories" at where your Audacity temporary directory is and how much space is on the drive. You must have permission to write to that folder. Norton or some cleanup tool could be interfering, thinking you want to delete temporary files, but that would...

Re: Cannot save Project, Exporting Only last Few Minutes of

Sounds like the same problem I've had for the past two weeks. It is better to start a new topic even if the problem seems similar to you. If the problem is not the same then posting here muddies this topic. You can always give a link in your new topic to the topic you want to reference. I observe t...

Re: Playback is blank for 1st half, then plays fine for 2nd

Re cleaning up unwanted files, would I clear my download folder or ? Assuming you never save Audacity projects and only export the recordings, then the only "unwanted" files are the files in the Audacity temporary directory. When you exit Audacity without saving changes, Audacity will aut...

Re: New version of "Crossfade Tracks"

So in the below image, wherever I slide the fully selected track 2 to, that track will always fade out: http://forum.audacityteam.org/download/file.php?id=13758 So, in the currently released version of the plugin, those selections would crossfade rather than both fading out. If I really wanted to c...

Re: Problems to set up effects.

the Calf plug-ins are really nice effects, but their graphical interface causes problems for many applications, including Audacity. Some versions of Calf plug-ins work pretty well in Audacity, but other versions have problems. What are the problems? The main problems I have are that the interface o...

Re: loss of data in recording

I am using Audacity version 2.1.0 and Windows 10. I downloaded audacity and installed from this file: audacity-win-2.1.0.exe I read text into AUP files and then convert to MP3 files and download to CDs for the visually impaired. I've had trouble with the recording process lately. Audacity drops bit...
