Re: Problems to set up effects.
To be more precise about my question : I have now Audacity 2.1.1 Alpha april 8 2015 Version. Were you not able to get the Ubuntu Handbook 2.1.1 release PPA working https://launchpad.net/~ubuntuhandbook1/+archive/ubuntu/audacity ? That should be preferable to an alpha build. I only really need a 3, ...

Re: InternalPortAudio error since windows 10 update
Thanks, Gary. There is an Audacity bug in there, we believe. If you had tried the older Audacity 2.0.3 without having the latest webcam drivers, it would very likely have recognised the motherboard audio and the M-Audio even if it did not see (or errored on) the webcam.

Re: New to Audacity - digitizing vinyl
:?: d o the new modern LPs that are currently fashionably being issued also suffer from loudness wars compression ?? I can mainly only speak for classical, but the 180 gram analogue LP reissues are often slightly compressed compared to the original LP (soft made louder). Those reissues sound a litt...

Re: Noise while recording a cassette via USB
Feeling totally overwhelmed on how to figure out my problem, I resigning myself to go to my computer guy at $75/hr. But thought I would try one last thing first. I removed Audacity from my computer, and using the cd that came with my cassette reloading Audacity. Then plugged my cassette back to com...

Re: How to remove harddisk ticks
I have spoken with the person who did the recording and he told me that the harddisk of the recorder was completely filled up with data. Therefore the last recording consists of fragmented disk space. It seems that recorded data was partly overwritten due to errors in disk management of the recorde...

Re: Bug: default sample format ignored for imports
Of course one benefit of your scheme is that we don't need the incremental dither noise added with effect processing if we first upconvert 16-bit track data to 32-bit. We don't actually need to "first upconvert". If we have integer format audio, then each sample is represented by a 16 (or...

Make sure you are following Recording Computer Playback on Mac OS X to the letter. Turn the Soundflower input and output up in Mac's Sound Preferences.

Re: Regular popping during playback
Is it a third-generation Mbox Mini? If so, have you installed the latest "1.3" drivers from http://avid.force.com/pkb/articles/en_US/download/Mbox-Mini-Drivers ? Note that if your Mbox control panel also has buffer settings, these may interact with "Audacity's Audio to buffer" se...

Re: Problems with Audacity and my external audio-interface
Please give us all three version numbers of Audacity from Audacity > About Audacity... , not just say it's the "latest version". If the problem could be described as "clicking", have you tried what would be the most obvious solution - reducing "Audio to buffer" in Audac...
