Re: Audacity hangs on startup
The log messages are all about audio. I don't think they are relevant, but thanks for including them. What desktop environment are you using? Is it the default Xfce? What language is Xubuntu running in? Have you tried quitting Audacity then deleting ~/.audacity-data/audacity.cfg? Note that you are u...

Re: problems with m-audio fast track pro
After having problems with a PrePen USB-interface ( http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=48&t=87727 ), I tried to activate a "m-audio fast track pro" interface via Jack. In my setting (Ubuntu Studio 15.04 on a Lenovo Yoga 2) Audacity (2.1.1.) runs more stable in normal editin...

Re: problems with m-audio fast track pro
Isn't this the box intended to connect to an Avid Suite with ASIO interface? You know you can compile Audacity with ASIO support? That might help. http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/ASIO_Audio_Interface @Koz, why do you keep saying that ASIO can be used on Mac and Linux. :? ASIO is Windows only . Re...

Re: vista previa (press preview) in english y en español
when I give a " press preview" any effect, I only plays a very small sample audio few seconds, and need to know how to change the size of the sample view prior to that I would play in the shows that I need to hear from any of the imported audio. Change "length of preview" in Pla...

Re: Fix of crappy recording with crappy microphone
Please, read the pink panel at the top of the page and tell us what version of Audacity you are using (all three numbers) and what version of Windows. Have you used Noise Removal (in Audacity 2.0.6 or earlier) or Noise Reduction (in 2.1.0 or later)? You may be able to reduce the harm done to the voi...

Re: Recording with sound detection
I'm using Audacity to record my voice while I record games in FRAPs. Unfortunately my mic seems to pick up everything To ask the obvious, are you using headphones, so that the mic cannot hear computer playback? Are you choosing the correct recording device in Audacity's Device Toolbar ? so I tried ...

Re: Audacity closing because of errors when trying to play .
Hi, I am having problems with audacity recently. I am using windows 8.1 and have installed and reinstalled audacity 2.1.1 It was working fine a few days ago, but then I had to clean my computer as it was due to be returned to the manufacturer - that has been delayed so am reinstalling everything. H...

Re: New to Audacity - digitizing vinyl
I'm betting that a lot of those "bargain label reissue from late 70's / early 80s" were from masters that had passed the 100,000th pressing mark that Cyrano refers to. Yes indeed, but there are other "mysterious" reasons as to why, generally speaking, end of LP era reissues soun...

Re: New to Audacity - digitizing vinyl
The biggest vinyl pressing plant in Europe (13.7 million pressed last year): http://thequietus.com/articles/17670-gz-vinyl-pressing-plant-record-store-day It's never been shut down since 1951, they don't do CD's. I read there: As well as a decades-long business in CD and DVD manufacturing (known in...

Re: Slim down the Click Track interface
I'd rather the weak and strong beat parameters would accept a range of MIDI notes, and ideally a two character letter-number string representing a value in the same range as the MIDI notes. For example you could enter "C4" or "60" for middle "C". What "note" ...
