Re: Exporting 32 bit float files: dither or not?
Don't worry about dithering. Audacity handles it correctly and graciously. If and when it's needed, it will be applied. Don't forget though about the bug Exporting from integer internal formats to files in same format or higher adds unwanted dither noise . That is not too much of a problem though, ...

Re: Regular popping during playback
Is this a portable Mac that comes with a screen and battery? If so you may want to upgrade to El Capitan as soon as it is released later this week. A few users who have had popping playing from Audacity to external interfaces have said that El Capitan suffers less from this than Yosemite or Maveric...

Re: limiting selected channels from usb-mixer
you could limit the number of channels in Audio/Midi setup, I think. It's not supported by every interface and I've never tried it with a Tascam. Is that usually done by "muting" channels in Audio MIDI Setup, or do devices that support it add some other control into Audio MIDI Setup? Gale

Re: Sound level adjusting when capturing from USB

Re: Recording with Audacity 2.1.1
Like Gale says, don't "record" from a CD player. Unless, that is, you have one of those wretched CDs that were sold a few years back with DRM copy protection on them ... Legality aside, there are several ways to get around that. Generally speaking, dBpoweramp can rip protected C...

Re: Slim down the Click Track interface
The case where leading whitespace might be selected due to default Audacity behaviour rather than an explicit choice on the part of the user, is the case of "selecting all" in a multi-track project. This was the case that we saw recently on the forum, and "not stretching" leadin...

Re: Help ME! Removing Background Noise!
These are cases that are recorded by another party [...] Isn't there some kind of CSI stuff? Not with Audacity. We can't and won't help you with legal investigations, if that is what you are doing, because you need a known, qualified audio forensics expert to work on your sounds to make them legall...

Re: limiting selected channels from usb-mixer
Would muting channels in Audio MIDI Setup prevent Audacity creating tracks for them? I would doubt that. Audacity cannot yet pick and choose non-contiguous channels to record or allocate specific channels to specific recording tracks. It's a long-standing "feature request". The best you ar...
