Re: limiting selected channels from usb-mixer
Audacity isn't the only one using "32 bit" as a source format where it's wrong, imho. I just noticed AM setup does to. It shows my RME as 8 channel, 32 bits. Presumably that is for any processing that Apple do? Oversimplified, Windows Vista and later do internal audio processing in 32-bit...

Re: Clipping When Importing Audio
The audio in that video is not badly clipped. I would try some subtle Equalization on it, to your taste.

Re: Exporting 32 bit float files: dither or not?
When importing using FFmpeg some formats are only imported at 16-bit. And that looks like a lot of common sense from the ffmpeg devs. How high is the chance that the source of these files would be 24 bit? However if they come in as 16-bit or 24-bit instead of 32-bit float, then with the current Aud...

Re: Exporting 32 bit float files: dither or not?
Ooh goody, another vinyl wars thread - now let my hobby-horse out for a canter around the yard ... Huh, well now you're forcing me to bring mine back out as well... CD's can sometimes only last a year or two even if well stored. If I must have a CD of something, which is rare, I rip it to WAV and s...

Re: Sound level adjusting when capturing from USB
What should to be the recommend level to Amplificationj (dB), now I have there 19,1.? Should just this be 6? What it the meaning of this adjustment? If you change Amplification (dB) to 6 dB when Amplify opens set to 19.1, then the New Peak Amplitude will only be -13.1 dB. Is it enough? Only you can...

Re: Export Audio and Change Volume
Is there a way you can export the audio to a .WAV file and change its overall volume at the same time? I don't want to change the volumes of all the individual tracks in the project and I also have reservations about importing a .WAV file back into Audacity, changing its volume and exporting it aga...

Re: Record iPhone5 voice mail to Macbook Pro
connected between the only headphone jack on each of the devices. In that case the port on the computer is probably four-position TRRS meant for an Apple headset. So if you were to do it the long way and record the messages (and risk that the input would distort) you probably need a TRS to TRRS cab...

Re: Finally found libmp3lame.dylib
Finally found it on this site: http://spaghetticode.org/lame/ Strange site. No frontpage and Lame is the only thing on the site. It's 3 years old and it looks like there hasn't been anything done on the site since. It's probably not malware, tho... Actually, spaghetticode.org is owned by Dominic, o...

Re: limiting selected channels from usb-mixer
Interfaces with more than 6 channels usually come with a driver and/or setup application because these usually contain gain settings, phantom power switches and routing or even dsp's. In Audio Midi setup, these controls are only available when the driver exposes them. If not, they're greyed out. Wh...

Re: Recording with Audacity 2.1.1
The thing is i sometimes use the cd player/ tape player to do Cds for folks. The CD i can work around the tape player i cannot. As i stated in my post the only thing i changed was updating Audacity to the newer 2.1.1 version. So obviously theres something in the newer version that was not in the ol...
